just saying - at one point this was an ongoing argument on here.So what?

That they had no where near the money that a vast majority of the NBA owners have. That the VASTmajority of their wealth is from appreciation of the basketball team and they just dont even come close to stacking up against a vast majority of other owners in the league. That the Buss family were billionaires? Don't think that was ever an argument.

Im saying they dont have nearly the financial resources as many of the other owners in the league have- and that between revenue sharing, they lose even more of that cash. Obviously Dan Gilbert has Quicken backing him, Arison cruise ships, Ballmer IBM, Cuban his internet money, Ellison has Oracle, etc. etc. etc....There is a reason why the Buss' are not listed as a top 20 wealthiest owner in the NBA.ok, so I guess you're saying the Buss' are broke...?
do explain...
yah- the one minority owner is very very rich. the Buss' - of course they are super rich- but not nearly on the same level as the vast majority of owners in the NBA.By the way, there are a couple of others with ownership percentages of the Lakers. And they are billionaires.

Thats different from the dynamic 20 years ago when most NBA teams were family businesses and have seen great appreciation- like Larry Miller of the Jazz before he passed- or REinsdorf now, or the Buss- though Reinsdorf has a very large portofolio outside of basketball.

i have no clue. Should be interesting to see how the new CBA effects not only the Lakers- but all teams with the more punitive tax. All though- we have already seen that owners like Prokohorov and Gilbert are willing to go deep into the tax, while other owners are more conscience of it and like cutting costs here or there....k, I get your point, but how's that affecting the TEAM in the future...?

I mean, who cares how much the Buss' have PERSONALLY? the fact of the matter is if it doesn't affaect the TEAM going forward who gives a rat's ass...?
we shall see in the coming years.--- but once again- i brought it up because people argued with me about the fact that the Buss' were not NEARLY as wealthy as a vast majority of NBA owners- and then an article from Forbes magazine comes out and confirms my argument. Once again- Time Vindicates.Correct. Wiggy is trying to make something out of nothing.
we shall see in the coming years.
Paying luxury taxes didn't bother them before. Heck, they were paying luxury taxes along with supporting the poor small market franchises through revenue sharing, and yet were still the most profitable NBA team. The Lakers brand is huge.
