I couldn't give a fuck what record the Lakers end up with, I want to see the young guys develop. There's no chance in hell they're winning the championship this year so why bother.

I'll still be rooting for them every single game and I could quite easily see them win 40 games this year.

What I don't understand is why the moron is posting about a team he claims he doesn't and won't watch. It's likely that I'll end up just banning him from the team board. At this point, he's trolling and that's not allowed on team boards.

...ok, you got me there...

still, guess it wouldn't matter anyways considering his message has pretty much become a broken record around here...

He started during draft day when he was pissed they drafted Russell over Okafor.

Apparently if we had drafted Okafor we'd immediately become contenders! Who knew? :noidea:

like what I've seen with him so far with his aggressive style and his leg seems to be holding up fine. looking forward to this kid being a productive pro...

so smart move by the Lakers' F.O....

Eh, not saying Randle hasn't been looking good because he has but picking up the option isn't really indicative of much. It's basically standard operating procedure for any 1st round pick unless they are a total disaster (ie Anthony Bennett). If you can dribble without tripping over your own feet, teams pick up the rookie option. That's what makes their contracts so appealing; you're guaranteed 3 to 4 years on a cheap price regardless of if the player is worth more.

B. Scott has added a shooting coach. Tracy Murray. Maybe he'll add Metta in a few weeks when the final cutdown comes and Metta isn't going to make the roster. Since we already lost Nash to another team as a coach, maybe Scott will figure this one out.

Lakers tab Tracy Murray shooting coach

I would like to see a roster for this season looking like this

Starters:
Russell
Clarkson
Kobe
Randle
Hibbert

Second Unit:
Huertas
Williams
Young
Bass
Black

3rd Unit:
Anthony Brown
Nance Jr
Upshaw
Jabari Brown
Kelly

I would send Frazier to the D league and cut Sacre, MWP, and Holmes

After last night's contest, it looks as though that may be the actual roster, Hangman.

This is probably pretty close. Word is that MWP has a shot at a roster spot because Byron likes his defense and work ethic. I don't know who else they'd cut to keep him though. Pretty much everyone on the roster that is likely on the chopping block, has made a decent case to be kept. Even Sacre.

Maybe cut MWP, but then keep him around as a "special consultant" similar to what they've done with Kareem? He was an elite defender in his younger days and could help working on guys individual defense with them.

A little more encouraging news:

It seems that Hibbert has quickly and quietly emerged as a team leader and it's helping the team to become closer and, according to players, that's part of the cohesiveness that we are starting to see. Hibbert has been planning team outings. He recently paid for an afternoon of paintball for everyone and has another planned to which even the coaches are invited. He's also been taking rookies to lunch and talking to them when they have struggled, using his own struggles as examples.

That is good news TJF12. Hibbert has really emerged and re-captured his essence in his earlier years at Indy. A change of scenery has really boosted him to return to the player everyone envisioned for him. And this was a significant coup by Mitch and the FO. Like I stated, this team could really become something special especially with all the young talent that'll be around for awhile. Another good indicator test will come today with GS coming into town even though it will a back-to-back game.

If Hibbert maintains his effort and productivity he's been showing on and off the court these last few weeks, I hope he signs a multi year deal with the team come next off season. Especially with the cap going up.
