Getting Schneider locked up was my biggest concern of the offseason. Having stability there for the next decade is pretty huge.

I like letting Fayne walk and buying out Volchenkov. Liked both players but the Devils have a ton of young NHL ready guys on D that can't be held back any longer. Now they will be regulars.

Really like the Squidward and Havlat signings. Overall it's been a really solid offseason so far. I still think a forward or 2 gets traded as we now have a logjam up front.

Just a bunch of minor moves from the Flyers, but not much they could do. Emery is back as the backup goalie, Umberger gets a second chance with the team. I suspect the next couple of seasons will be very much like this past one as Hextall deals with Holmgren's messy contracts. I'll probably be watching the Phantoms more this season to see how the D prospects are doing. One interesting thing to watch for the Flyers will be Scott Laughton's progress. Kind of the "X" factor this training camp.

Schneids was a good move by you guys as was Havlat. Hopefully, the youth steps up and helps return the Dev's to the playoff fold.

Yep it'll be interesting to see how the Phantoms do, now that they're in Lehigh Valley they want a better product because they're closer to Philly so that will be interesting - I think they have a better team right now - a full season there of Ghost and Robert Hagg should make a big difference, and they signed some really good AHL players in Andrew Gordon and Blair Jones, so they should help the offense too

If St. Louis has a good season, can't see the Rangers wanting to make too many changes to a team the made the Finals.

I was realistic as Danny Limes and I discussed on FN, we were boxed in with the cap and FA's.
Sather extended some second chance offers to some players and he looked like a genius.

I didnt like the Cally deal simply for the fact of the picks going the other way, and we NEVER have youth. MTSL is just better all around even at 30 whatever.

I was glad we didnt pay Boyle, Stralman or Pouliot. Boyle is not worth that kinda coin but understand why he got it; Stralman was the one that hurt as well, but once Niskanen or whatever his name was got that 4 million $ deal we were done for. Pouliot was not worth $4 a year, no way but enjoy Deadmonton.

Richards had to be done.

I am hopeful Miller makes strides and can make the team out of camp and grab the 3 rd line center spot (not sure Brassard is a #2 guy though), and let that kid Lindback(?) come up and play.

A lot of Flyers fans will make it to their games now that they are closer. I'm very curious to see how the prospects work out, especially the defensemen you mentioned.

And you still have Lundquist. :gaah:

Miller is such a big part of hoping they stay on top.....he hasn't shown it so far....

It should be a good defense with Ghost, Robert Hagg and Mark Alt - I'm curious how the goalie situation is too - Anthony Stolarz had hip surgery a month or so ago but that shouldn't affect him for next season - hopefully he can make the next step - also they signed Rob Zepp, curious how he fares in the AHL

I'm very excited about the defense. Goalie will be interesting now that Heeter is gone. If Mason plays like we all hope he is, then I'm not too worried. Competent backups are not too hard to find.

Rob Zepp. A little insight into how I am slowly losing my mind - I'm starting to judge the chances of success for a player based on his name. And, I just can't imagine Rob Zepp succeeding. :L
