That was a "we need depth" trade. Man. Maybe Hornqvist does well with one of Sid/Malkin and it doesn't hurt...but that's a lot of goals gone.

Hornqvist's goal scoring numbers are just as good as Neal's were pre-Penguins, while playing on a low-scoring team.

Unfortunately I think the Pens made out pretty well here.

Top 6 forward and very solid 3rd liner for Kneel. I'd be happy if I was a Pens fan.

That's my though - Hornqvist is a good fit for what the Penguins need, a hard guy to play against - and Nick Spaling's a solid player too - it gives them more depth

I didn't think they'd be taking on salary if they traded James Neal but I guess this isn't bad for them

I speak with ignorance frankly. Everything I hear is that Hornqvist is an awesome dude, and you're right...30 goals on the Preds could easily be 40 on the Pens.

Nashville didn't want to move all the way down from 11 - this trade makes sense for them because they give up a lesser player in Nick Spaling instead of giving up 11 and getting 22

I could have done without Spaling to be honest. I would have rather just had the little bit of cap relief.

I'd guess Minnesota. I think we're looking at mostly forwards
