I'm noticing that a lot of safeties are getting taken. There is no value at the position for the next couple of rounds and its arguably the Rams biggest need.

There's a few solid safeties in the market in FA this offseason.

Yeah I guess for me when I started this I already had in my head who the Broncos were going to target in Free Agency leaving just a couple of positions to look at. This draft really is lacking in top end safety quality. There are 2 first round guys but beyond them just goes down hill quickly. Free Agency on the other hand has some big time players and with so many in the market it should drive down the cost just a bit.

If my draft slot isn't up by the time the US hockey game is over, I might have to leave a list of players as well.

For the most part we are at the point where you have to expect a lul. So many people feel draft success occurs in the first three rounds. Personally I couldn't disagree more, IMO the latter rounds are critical to a teams success, it's where depth is built

I've gotten multiple trade offers. I'm not taking any of them. My pick will come shortly (sorry for the wait).

Still some good players left IMO, may not fill my niners needs, the jags should kill it in rd 5.

On the Safeties... Byrd will ahve the headlines but I like TJ Ward much more as a SS if he leaves the browns. I think he may get tag IIRC the situation. Also there's Whitner if he doesn't resign back in SF

Yeah Ward is the guy I am hoping the Broncos look at. The guy is a top 3 SS right now in the league and still has the room to grow to be top of his position. He makes teams fear coming over the middle, is a sound tackler, and pretty darn good in coverage. Again when you have all of these guys possibly hitting FA it usually drops the price and to me just looks like the more favorable place to look for those teams looking for Safety help.

Now I do like a few of the guys in the draft and think they will be good in the NFL just not sure I see one being as good as Byrd or Ward at this point.

Mel Kipers draft questions and answers:
Which player could go from second-round status to the first round with a strong Combine workout? I'll give you three. Jarvis Landry, WR from LSU; Kelcy Quarles, DT/DE from South Carolina; Dee Ford, edge rusher from Auburn. There could be more, but those come to mind.

GM Gkekoa took DT Quarles in the 4th round and he could wind up being a 1st round talent. I say we will keep Gkekoa as our GM for another round maybe :suds:

FYI: Pats have two six round picks totaling 34 points, picks 182 ( from iggles ) and 190 looking to move up to round 5. Values are around picks 13 through 18. Hit me with a PM if interested.

Jeremy Hill might be the first running back picked in real life. Excellent value here. I considered him but I really didnt want another young RB
