The Cowboys are coming off their third straight 8-8 season. If there's one thing working in their favor, it's the absence of expectations. Perhaps Murray should express his surprising optimism in a more private setting.


This was a quote from the person who wrote that. " Surprising optimism". How some of these guys get these jobs I will never understand. What is he suppose to say- we suck.

I go through our schedule and I see 4 games we should win, 4 we shouldn't and 8 that could go either way. We need to find a way to go 6-2 in those games that are toss up's. 6-10 or 10-6, neither would be a surprise. That's what makes it exciting I guess

Yep Im always optimistic before the season. I still go back to 2007 . I would have never had us winning 13 but we did. I just cant believe the guy that wrote that article said that about Murray- that his surprising optimism should have been shown in private. Really? I imagine any team the guy covered right now would be surprisingly optimistic.

Cowboys linemen are wearing knee braces. Team has made them mandatory for contact practices and games.

I think this is a great idea and you will see other teams copy this very soon. Those big guys are vital to a team's success and anything to keep them from getting injured is a good thing.

Very smart move by the Cowboys in my opinion.

Let's hope JJ continues to progress and develop. I still think this kid can be a good player, I'm just not going to annoint him until I see it. Problem is even if he plays well we still need another safety. Church is fine in the box, but limited in coverage and you need at least 3 guys that can play. I'm still hoping the UDFA that is considered more a "center fielder" type wins the #3 spot. Also hoping Heath nevers sees the field on defense again. I think Wilcox and a pure cover safety could be a good combo for us down the road.

No Romo in the first preseason game. Not necessarily a concern in and of itself, but combined with the obvious vagueness of his true health right now this isn't insignificant. Backs are a tricky thing. I'm not convinced he will be healthy for the start of the season and won't be until he's participating in every single practice.

given how "truthful " the Cowboys are with injuries it would not surprise me if the real Tony Romo was still in a private Hospital in Dallas and the guy in Oxnard is a CIA facelift replacement that Jerry is trying to pass off as Romo so he wont have to take the cap hit
