Frasor traded to the Royals for a AAA pitcher.

Why keep frasor? That's about all you get for a middling reliever, he was not dominant

Think this is a case of over valuing your own players.

No issues with trading him and I agree, his trade value is not very high but if we had the option of including him with a bigger name, don't you think that could net us more. I guess this does potentially free up some money though, so there is some value in that as well and perhaps we are not considering trading much else. However, I have a feeling we will be involved in several other trades. Sure hope we don't trade Beltre though.

Yup. This is one of the reasons we should be teaching Gallo to play COF along with 1B.

I was thinking about this and perhaps it's one of two things: (1) Either the team isn't as sold on him not playing 3rd in the majors as some on here think or (2) they just don't want to mess with his offensive mind set just yet, by challenging him to learn a new position.

I heard on the radio that there's an ESPN guy that brought up the idea of trading Choo. Now this is interesting. I personally would keep him, but I hadn't really thought of trading him. I'm hoping his defense improves a little when his ankle is healed. Otherwise we signed an expensive DH for the future.

I honestly don't think that would be in our best interest of now. Granted we are potentially overloaded at DH but Choo also doesn't have his highest trade value right now and we likely wouldn't get what he is worth. Not to mention we would likely have to eat some of the contract and our OF depth is pretty weak at the moment.

Both are very possible. Here's JD on Gallo in June:

On Joey Gallo possibly playing first base:
“Could Joey Gallo go play first base? No doubt. He’d have to figure it out. He hasn’t really played over there. He’s a third basemen, but between footwork and his instincts he could play it out. I just don’t think that’s the right thing for him long-term and I don’t think that’s the right thing for us. We want to develop him at the right pace and not make any knee-jerk reactions.”

Agree. Frasor has not been someone we all are excited to see come out of the bullpen lately. At least they did trade for a pitcher and you just never know what may develop.

Patton has just come into the AAA All Star game to snuff a rally on MLB Network.

And struck the guy out.

Very good article. Yeah, I am familiar with Mr. Allen. Man, I wish Kershaw would come back to Texas.

Greinke is said to be watching Free Agency very closely in case he decides to leave early, which is in his contract :hope:

Well, we better turn this ship around next year, or I don't see us interesting him much.

Well, I'm not sure how early is early. Could be a couple of years away. Terps would know. Sure Greinke is very interested in what contract Price gets after next year.

He won't be a FA until 2019.

Thought it would be sooner. Better concentrate on Shields and lock down Yu, if he's willing.
Yu seems like a man who puts his all in winning and playing for a winning team more than seeing how much money he can make. Just my perception

He is watching Lester and Scherzer to see what type of contract they get next year because he can opt out after next season.
Thought as much. Hmmmm. Should be interesting.

I don't think he can be a FA until after 2016, regardless of "if" he wins a CY Award or not. At least I think that's the case.
