I step away from the sports pages for a couple of days only to return to see the Phillies still below .500. I am beginning to resign myself like PC that this club is pretty much relegated to toast status and they are going to finish in the same place they did last year with probably an identical record. Yeah, it's looking like a bummer so far but might as well keep on riding it and see where it goes. I know I will be following along regardless. Can't help it I guess.. lol

Same here PC. I have been following the Phillies for 50+ years and I ain't following anybody else. I am just bitchin'up a storm because somebody in the organization does not get the notion that keeping a bunch of aging players is, in most cases, not going to get you a championship. So yea. I'll keep checkin' the boxscores even though I am expecting no great changes yet anyway.

I'd like to see the Phillies start calling up some of there farm club talent they supposedly have instead of always trading them for aging players. If we are going to be below .500 all year, why don't they pull an Atlanta and bring in some new youngbloods and see where they take us?

I understand the Phils have been trying to "win now" while they still have that core group together but the window has been closing for a while and looks to be slamming shut soon. Might be time to take a new course of action going forward.

Yep, another discouraging loss with krappy hitting in light of a pretty good pitching night. Somebody has to get that we need to start jettisoning these "dead bats" for younger players who can hit. I know the Phillies have some in the system. I say call them up and let's start the rebuilding process because after nearly 40-some games, the evidence is clear. Or so you'd think.
