he keeps talking extension!! it's sandberg's time now. do get embarrassed and force them to fire you. just end your tenure after the season and walk away! it's over.

No way. I want to see them roll him out in a wheelchair to present the starting lineup everyday. The trips to the mound will make the games longer than Yanks/BoSox games.

Yea I'm tired of hoping we will ever get past .500 and actually have a decent record. I see an old team getting older and Manuel and the FO doing little to change it. Even though we are now third in the lame NL East, I am not sure what anybody in the Philly organization is thinking these days.

Flippin Phillies beat the fish today in Philly, 7-2. The Phillies always play well when they are under .500 but when they get close to actually going .500 or going over .500, they freak and eff the whole thing up.

The Nats and Braves are pretty tough competition. What's lame about it?

What's lame about it is there is one team 3 games above .500 and one team 1 game above .500 with the rest of the teams below .500 in teh East. Compared to the NL Central where there is only 1 team below .500 and everyone else above. In my definition of lame, I consider the NL East as such based on that criteria.

Indeed the Braves are tough this year but I consider the Nats to be beatable by us if we are hitting on all cylinders like we have demonstrated at times this season. I'd like our consistency to be better especially on offense which has been sporadic to start the year.

I guess I hear what you're saying. But as the old cliche goes- It's still early.

Yes it is PC86. And I hoping that some of the older guys like Rollins, Utley, and maybe Howard can get into an offensive rhythm that brings consistency back to actually give Atlanta a run for their money and hopefully qualify for the post-season as this season progresses.

I was listening to Rick Suftcliff in the booth on one of the recent Phillies games and he was describing Howard's hitting slump. Meanwhile I was yelling that the dude isn't earning his big money because of his poor hitting and am not sure he has fully recovered from his achilles tendon tear either.

Anyway, Suftcliff was stating that Howard hits great during batting practice but has somehow fell into the bad habit of not taking his BP swing into the game like he used to. I am thinking: "WTH". "You are getting paid gobs of money and you can't make that transfer"?

Then he added that everyone that takes batting practice always have a smooth, relaxed swing due in part to the pitches being around 70mph. Something changes when the pitches in a game approach 100mph

Well yes, really? I thought, you didn't mention that the man is being paid to make that transfer and that is some of what is wrong with the Phillies these days. Players like Howard looking like a fool at the plate and not earning the contract they signed.

Nice win at Citizens. We played a nice solid game with homeruns from Howard and Utley. May be Howard is starting to get his old swing back or may be the Fins are just that bad.

This should not be. A 2-0 loss to the Fins after taking the first two at Citizens. I suppose the Phillies wanted to take the night off. Losing to an 8-22 team is simply unconscionable. This is what has me pulling my hair out about this team!!!! I know they were getting too close to .500 again. Time to eff things up. Not one freakin run!!!

Interesting state Hammer. I just wish the rest of his teammates would get with on such a consistent basis and not lose stupid games like they did yesterday to a 8-22 Fins at home no less.

Then they freakin get blown out 14-2 today at Citizens. I just saw that Halladay is going to have shoulder tests done. May be something is up.

With the way he has been pitching you almost have to think there is. Sucks.

That is twice in a week the Phillies have given up 2 touchdowns. This is not good. I am afraid it may be a long summer ahead for us Phillie fans.

I am not sure what is going on in the thinking of the FO but not very many changes were made from last year and one definition of insanity is to keep doing the same things and expecting different results. Folks are getting older and teh offense has gotten stale on a more routine basis that apparently the fans get but the coaching staff and FO don't. This is just krap to have one of baseball's highest payroll's and let a 9-22 team beat you as badly as they did Sunday!
