Eddie Lacy - RB - Packers

Eddie Lacy said he's on the "same page" with the coaching staff regarding his weight.

Lacy is aware of the bad-angle fat picture that went viral on Monday. "I'm at a weight where I'm comfortable at and the coaching staff feels as though they're comfortable where I'm at," he said. "I'm a power back." Lacy, who is listed at 5'11/230, declined to reveal his exact weight.

Tyrann Mathieu - DB - Cardinals

Cardinals third-round DB Tyrann Mathieu is practicing at safety in base formations and corner in the nickel.

Mathieu mostly played corner at LSU, where he earned a reputations as the nation's most dominant ball hawk despite making just 14 starts. "He's learning how to play safety," coach Bruce Arians said. "He can cover sideline to sideline. He's shown the range, he's shown the speed to fill the alley, and I know he can tackle. He knows how to play nickel. He's played it his whole life, so that's a natural for him." Mathieu is behind Yeremiah Bell at free safety.

Johnathan Franklin - RB - Packers

ESPN.com reports Packers rookie RB Johnathan Franklin "appeared overmatched" in a Tuesday pass-protection drill.

"I felt like the outside linebackers clearly got the best of the running backs today," coach Mike McCarthy said. That won't cut it for a player who will have to make his name on third down as a rookie. It won't be a real concern until we see how Franklin fares in the preseason, but it's something to keep an eye on. David Wilson and Ronnie Hillman were rookie backs who struggled in pass pro last season.

I'm sorry coach, this kid was never mentally tough to begin. He just doesn't have "it".

Justin Hunter - WR - Titans

Titans WRs coach Shawn Jefferson has "continued to ride" rookie Justin Hunter in training camp, "demanding more intensity and mental toughness."

Per the Tennessean's John Glennon, Jefferson "lit up" Hunter "with some choice language" following a Tuesday practice drill. Hunter has drawn the ire of coaches and teammates (e.g. Bernard Pollard) alike through the first week of camp. Known as soft both mentally and in terms of on-field play at Tennessee, Hunter will have to take a big leap to be a serious rookie-season factor.

E.J. Manuel - QB - Bills

Observing Bills practice on Monday, SI's Peter King found E.J. Manuel to be "comfortable, confident, strong-armed and accurate."

King would be surprised if Kevin Kolb could hold Manuel off for "very long," if at all. King also expects coach Doug Marrone's offense to be "fun and fast." A gifted athlete with a 6-foot-5, 237-pound frame, it's not a surprise that Manuel is turning heads in practice. It's the games, of course, that will be the challenge. Manuel appeared overwhelmed at times at Florida State, even as a senior. Regardless, nearly every report has him out-playing Kolb thus far in camp.

Da'Rick Rogers - WR - Bills

Speaking Wednesday, Bills coach Doug Marrone said UDFA WR Da'Rick Rogers has "really stepped it up" from where he was in spring workouts.

Geno Smith - QB - Jets

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini stated on NFL Live that Geno Smith may have grabbed a "slight edge" in the Jets' quarterback battle.

"If Mark (Sanchez) has more days like this," Cimini said after Wednesday's practice, "we could see a changing of the guard at QB." This would be an ideal scenario for the Jets, who tried trading Sanchez in the offseason and never wanted to keep him on the roster. Rookie GM John Idzik likely would've cut Sanchez outright had David Garrard not retired. Ex-Seahawks exec Idzik wants Chris Ivory to be his Marshawn Lynch, and Smith to be his Russell Wilson.

Wow, that's a big difference. The camera adds a lot and the angle (yes, I know, both pictures from camera cancel out).

Eddie Lacy not worried about weight, unflattering picture

DeAndre Hopkins - WR - Texans

DeAndre Hopkins "just keeps getting better" at Texans camp.

As CSN Houston puts it, Hopkins' best day was Wednesday until he excelled on Thursday. Then Thursday was his best day until Friday. The No. 27 overall pick and clear-cut starting "Z" receiver continues to make big plays on a daily basis. "All the contested stuff is what he's exceptional at, when it's close and it's him and another guy, he makes the play," coach Gary Kubiak said. Hopkins is a WR4 with upside in re-draft and one of the best Dynasty prospects in this rookie class.

Another one of my fav:

Robert Alford - DB - Falcons

SI's Peter King calls second-round CB Robert Alford "one of the fastest risers around the league" through the first week of camp.

King goes as far to say that Alford could challenge first-rounder Desmond Trufant for the starting right corner job. That would be a surprise considering he's raw coming out of SE Louisiana. Still, it's great news for the Falcons as they try to plug arguably their biggest hole on the roster.

Was one of my least fav prospects:

E.J. Manuel - QB - Bills

First-round pick E.J. Manuel has reportedly been "the best quarterback" in Bills camp through six days of full practice.

Manuel has been calm and comfortable in his first NFL camp, even while running a lot of no-huddle. Seven-year veteran Kolb was doing "little to cement the starting job" before slipping on a mat on his way to Sunday's practice and tweaking his knee. Even if Kolb can somehow hold off the rookie and start in Week 1, we wouldn't expect him to last long. Manuel is progressing nicely heading into Monday night's intrasquad scrimmage.

Geno Smith - QB - Jets

Through seven Jets practices and one scrimmage, Geno Smith has completed 39-of-68 passes (57.4 percent) with three touchdowns, no interceptions, and 12 sacks taken.

Mark Sanchez is 46-of-82 (56.1 percent) with a 3:4 TD-to-INT ratio and eight sacks absorbed. Smith needs to improve on getting the ball out of his hands quicker, but he's been the superior of the two Jets quarterbacks at this point in training camp. A Monday morning story in the New York Daily News predicted Smith will start Week 1 as long as he stays "sharp" in preseason games.

Joseph Randle - RB - Cowboys

Cowboys rookie RB Joseph Randle rushed 13 times for 70 yards in Sunday night's Hall of Fame Game.

The fifth-round pick worked with Phillip Tanner on the twos and then got all of the third-team action. Lance Dunbar appears entrenched as the No. 2 back, and DeMarco Murray was held out. Randle broke off some productive runs when blocking freed him up, but he was facing end-of-roster Dolphins defenders, and guys who'll get cut. He has a ways to go to become fantasy relevant.

We missed out on this kid too:

David Amerson - DB - Redskins

Second-round pick David Amerson has received more first-team reps than any cornerback in Redskins camp.

Per the Washington Post, coaches and veteran players have both described Amerson as "the most talented corner on the team." Amerson obviously doesn't lack talent, but he's still prone to peeking into the backfield, a problem that plagued him throughout last season at North Carolina State. In an ideal world, the Redskins will fix that issue and use Amerson at outside corner in all nickel packages, opposite Josh Wilson with DeAngelo Hall in the slot.

Tank Carradine - DL - 49ers

49ers second-round DE Tank Carradine (ACL surgery) is not close to practicing.

Carradine opened camp on the active/PUP list, and may stay on reserve/PUP into the season. Viewed internally as the 49ers' heir apparent to RE Justin Smith, Carradine's rehab has been "slowed down" by club medical staff since running a 4.93 forty just before the draft. Reserve/PUP would cost him six games.

Justin Hunter - WR - Titans Rookie

WR Justin Hunter had two drops, "including one that bounced off his chest" in the Titans' Saturday intrasquad scrimmage.

Drops were a major problem for Hunter at Tennessee in 2012, where he was one of the least efficient receivers in the nation. Despite an A.J. Green-like body type and movement, Hunter lacks natural hands. He's also been the heavy target of criticism by coaches and teammates at spring and summer practices.

Riley Reiff - T - Lions

Lions first-year LT Riley Reiff has reportedly been "impressive throughout" training camp.

Bear in mind Reiff is squaring off with raw rookie Ziggy Ansah, journeyman Willie Young, and 2012 fourth-rounder Ronnell Lewis in practice, but it's good news nonetheless. In Sunday's team drills, Reiff was reportedly "dominant," which is precisely what he should be against those players. The Lions' offensive line remains a concern, but early signs are positive on their new left tackle.

Tyler Wilson - QB - Raiders

Raiders coach Dennis Allen acknowledged Sunday rookie Tyler Wilson is losing camp reps because he's "behind from a mental standpoint."

Allen did say he believes Wilson has "all the physical tools," but he's been losing practice time to UDFA Matt McGloin. Matt Flynn is entrenched as Oakland's starter, and Terrelle Pryor has all but locked up primary backup duties. Wilson could still make a run at the No. 2 job with a strong preseason performance.
