We went from a franchise that never drafted tight ends to one that took 2 first rounders in the last 4 drafts.

I hope we draft a rb somewhere along the line... I would draft 2 of them. BJGE and Bernard Scott are not the freaking answer.

Five years ago this never would have happened....we would have reached for a tackle or safety.....

Awfully good player to get this late in the draft...

one of the safest players in the 1st rd.

If we went WR, I wanted a possession guy like Allen or Woods.. this is even better for third down offense...

can't believe he was still there...

Just imagine this: 5 wide set. AJ Green and Marvin Jones out wide, Sanu in the slot, Eifert and Gresham on the line at TE. That would be a crazy hard formation to defend. Hell, we could even shift formations, didn't Sanu play some RB at practice and even a couple plays in games last year?

Yeah, and imagine if we draft a guy like Justin Hunter also with your 5 wide set:

WR Green
WR Hunter
WR Sanu (slot - roamer)
TE Gresham
TE Eifert

You have no idea if the TE's are going to go out for a pass or stay in and block? Will one go out, and the other stay in? Will it be a WR screen? Will Sanu go in motion from the outside and then get set as a RB, or will Dalton shift out in motion and Sanu take a snap from center from a wildcat?

That would be scary as hell to defend.

After that pick, I would prefer to go this route...

#1 - TE Tyler Eifert
#2 - WR Justin Hunter
#2 - S Shamarko Thomas
#3 - OT Chris Faulk
#4 - RB Knile Davis (as a project)
#5 - OLB John Simon
#6 - QB Zac Dysert
#7 - DE Lawrence Okoye (very raw, huge project, but serious athletic skills)
Then whoever with the next 2 picks.

We could have Tony Gonzalez and Shannon Sharpe and not throw a damn pass to a TE. Plus, our QB is a joke.

Drafting a WR/TE at this point is just a wasted pick. Gotta fix the QB spot first.

This is not the year to fix the QB. The only guy who could have done it went to Buffalo.

Since when do we use 2 TE sets? This pick is fuckin retarded unless Gresham is traded today.

Disagree. The two tight end sets makes perfect sense if they are going to try to accommodate Dalton's limited skillset. You knew they weren't going to try to fix quarterback this year. We all did. Maybe after another first round playoff loss, or better yet, a non playoff year, they'll try to replace Dalton.

We won't see both TE's running routes. Gruden is an idiot. Dalton aint Tom Brady. Stupid pick unless Gresham is traded. Traded for what is the question. He sucks.

Understatement of the century. Still, I think they'll incorporate the two TEs into the offense, and I think it will be reasonably successful, less Gresham's inevitable drops. And you have to love a 6'6" TE with a 35" vertical around the goal line.

The two TE sets to run or pass from with Dalton's limits makes sense, plus, Gresham is coming up due to resign and they are probably looking at spending so much on Green and Atkins, they will not have much left over for a TE who will probably want the moon and doesn't deserve it, so now his replacement is already on the team. The Patriots seem to do okay with two TE's, granted, that is Tom Brady throwing to them, but between Gronk and Hernandez, they do very well.

Was at the game last night, so I didn't get to chime in on the draft.

lol at the Bills. And lol at Geno Smith, who should have had to spend the night in the Green Room

I said long before the draft that Jarvis Jones was the best defensive player in college football. Sucks we're going to get to see him drill Dandy into the ground twice a year.

I think we got the best player available, but now I am worried that we're setting up an offense to throw 55 times a game, which I don't think Dandy can do. It also lets us know that the Orson Charles pick last year was a waste. This is what I was talking about in the last draft thread. Draft looks decent on paper, but a year later, it's a wasted 4th round pick.

Check out this little hamlet I get to go bid on tomorrow....cozy

Damn. 1.5 gets you that?? I need to move back to Cincy. I really like this house that was just finished in my neighborhood. Fairly run of the mill, for a cool 1.75

Balls. Didn't see that the Browns got Ki-Ki Mingo.

And Tubbs, come on man, you gave me some shit a while ago when I said Xavier Rhodes was a first rounder. Definitely not better than David Amerson, right?

Chiming in to say love the pick. Tyler Eifert is an amazing player, he can catch anything that's even remotely in his direction. He'll add a whole new dimenstion to this offense. Should be fun to watch.
