So glad the Boys dodged that bullet a few years back. The guy cost a fortune, underachieved and from what I can tell, had a "I don't really care" attitude.

FauxJohnMadden: Eagles release Nnamdi Asomugha, who was somehow beat for 4 touchdowns as he left team facilities.

are they playing for the Manziel/Clowney sweepstakes ?

Winfield hasn't really played that much the past 2 seasons. He did play all 16 games, but his playing time had been reduced right much. He refused a pay cut, so the writing was pretty much on the wall.

Bills released Fitzpatrick......a guy they just gave a contract to a few years ago. Looks like they're letting Aaron Williams, one of their starting CBs, go as well.

The Lions signed Deangelo Hall, LOL

Ryan Fitzpatrick cut by Buffalo Bills, who need a QB - NFL.com

Bills coach Chan Gailey tried converting Fitzpatrick into a franchise quarterback and overpaid him badly two years ago with a six-year, $59 million contract extension. The Bills will eat $10 million in dead money just to get rid of Fitzpatrick, who now becomes the best free-agent quarterback available in an awful market. At the very least, Fitzpatrick can be a quality backup somewhere. It just won't be in Buffalo.

Dolphins' Newest Multimillion Dollar Man, Brian Hartline, Works at Drive-Thru | Bleacher Report

The 24-year-old, who received the minimum salary of $390,000 last season, said he is working at a sandwich shop because, "I just wanted to stay fit, stay out of trouble, and really just try to save money and not spend a lot of money."

There are no guarantees in the NFL, and one large contract could always be an athlete's last. With so many deciding to spend their cash as quickly as they make it, we applaud Hartline and Ganaway for avoiding that trap.

Now if you need some milk, as long as it's not skim, and you are in the Ohio area, stop by Smart Stop.

I hear the owner is a pretty successful NFL player.

I just LOL'd at this comment...
The Vikes weren't going to pay 7.25 million to a 36 year old who basically plays in nickle coverage only.
He's still a great hitter and leader, so the door is open if no teams show interest and he's willing to take a paycut.

The owners delayed voting on the proposed rule about runners leading with the helmet:

Owners approve two rule changes, delay on helmet use - NFL - SI.com

What caught my eye though, was this rule change:

Also banned is overloading a formation while attempting to block a field goal or extra point. Defensive teams can now have only six or less players on each side of the snapper at the line of scrimmage. Players not on the line can't push teammates on the line into blockers, either.

The alignment violation is a 5-yard penalty. The pushing penalty is 15 yards for unnecessary roughness.

So it' now going to be basically impossible to block kicks.
