2012 Nebraska Recruiting List (1st pg)

This has been a fairly slow recruiting year, not as much excitement it seems for some reason. Down the stretch here will be interesting to see if we put the full press on these guys before the music stops and we still have lots of chairs open.

Shelton's high school assistant coach is saying that Oregon State's Defensive Back's coach Keith Heyward leaving to go to Washington is what brought on Shelton reconsidering his options in the first place. Heyward was the one who recruited Shelton.

He says he believes Nebraska is the favorite right now, but said Shelton has never told him "I'm decommitted to Oregon State."

He says coach Raymond was in Shelton's home yesterday to meet his family.

He says Shelton doesn't know yet if he is going to take the trip to Tennessee............but by the way it sounds, if he doesn't take the trip, then he will most likely be N.

On a sidenote if all goes well with Leggett's visit this weekend he will be N.

FSU has leggett as their backup as they're holding out for #1 rated CB Ronald Darby and will likely wait all the way till signing day to get him.

Leggett isn't likely to sit around on the back burner. If we can just get the kid on campus and have everything go smoothly he should be a lock to sign.

I don't normally say a player is N without first knowing 100% for sure.............but I'm saying it in this case. Shelton is N.

Oregon State lost him when Heyward left, and when he saw Nebraska's facilities compared to Oregon State's............

Tennessee is an absolute mess. Chances are a coaching change will be made by the Volunteers within the next couple of years............I really doubt he is going to take that chance.

Not really sure. He said he plans to make his decision on Wednesday..........nobody can verifty what that "decision" exactly is. Maybe it's the decision on whether or not to visit Tennessee.........maybe it's his overall decision where he wants to go.

I'd say we're gonna find out quite a bit by either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Remember the name Dylan Utter. This is one walk-on who I guarantee will end up playing Center for us somewhere down the road.

6'3" 300 pounds out of Papillion. Chose to walk-on over scholarships to a couple other schools (one of those being Army) for his love fer the Huskers.

I absolutely guarantee you this will be one of those guys who works hard enough to play, and will outplay scholarship athletes on our team........ultimately earning himself one of them thar scholarships.
