2011 - Rankings when bowl games were decided
Alabama lost to #1 and they beat #6, #22, #25
Oklahoma State lost to UR, beat #8, #12, #14, #24
Oklahoma's stats, other than offense, were far more impressive. They won their conference. Don't look at it that they won the NCG, oSu could have too.
2012 - Week 13 rankings
Oregon went into overtime with Stanford lost, Alabama lost to Texas A&M by 5 in regulation. Stanford is currently ranked above Texas A&M.
Oklahoma lost to an undefeated team and a 1-loss team. South Carolina lost to a 2-loss team and 1-loss team. Texas A&M lost to a 2-loss team and a 1-loss team.
Now this season, the argument SEC fans are making (same with the voters) is not who they lost to, it's who they beat. I guess it is whatever makes the SEC look better.
