2011 - Rankings when bowl games were decided

Alabama lost to #1 and they beat #6, #22, #25

Oklahoma State lost to UR, beat #8, #12, #14, #24

Oklahoma's stats, other than offense, were far more impressive. They won their conference. Don't look at it that they won the NCG, oSu could have too.

2012 - Week 13 rankings

Oregon went into overtime with Stanford lost, Alabama lost to Texas A&M by 5 in regulation. Stanford is currently ranked above Texas A&M.

Oklahoma lost to an undefeated team and a 1-loss team. South Carolina lost to a 2-loss team and 1-loss team. Texas A&M lost to a 2-loss team and a 1-loss team.

Now this season, the argument SEC fans are making (same with the voters) is not who they lost to, it's who they beat. I guess it is whatever makes the SEC look better.

I want to see an SEC team in the NCG, but it is ridiculous that Oregon drops below all the 1-loss SEC teams after a weekend in which those SEC teams beat up on the Sisters of the Poor.

If any one has the right to complain, it would be FSU/Clemson fans. How the fuck can you rank them that far back with only 1 loss?

Agree with both of these. Texas A&M and Stanford both shouldn't be anywhere near where they are. That A&M ranking is a fucking joke. It's there for one reason. To benefit Alabama.

I didn't want to take the time to (1) look up all of these and (2) I figured someone would bring up them anyway. I do agree with you. Fine, ACC is not as prestigious as the Big 12, Pac 12, or SEC, but they have been strong this season.

Clemson trailed the worst team in the SEC midway through the 4th quarter though

Clemson played y'all as tough as anyone when y'all went to the title game but the sec was still considered to be awesome. But now when Auburn plays up to Clemson it means Clemsons no good?

The ACC hasn't been this weak in a long time...

Really? Do you want me to dig up some of my old posts on the matter? Alabama was BY FAR the statistically superior team last year. It wasn't even close. When the defensive powerhouse has a bigger margin of victory than the offensive powerhouse, it is a pretty good sign they were the better team.

Edit: After looking again, you probably meant that and just mistyped the wrong state relatively late on a Sunday night. I hope I am right.

So when you're good, Clemson "plays up to your level" but when you're bad, Clemson "plays down to your level." Sounds about right :bored:

Butthurt homers don't get it. Look at UF's schedule for example. So, we lost to UGAy but it was the 4th tough game in a row and we were pretty beat-up. (still are pretty beat-up) To give a puff-ball scheduled team like FSUx or Notre Dame equal credit for a win or loss is just fucking stupid.

It's usually some kid who was in the band in high school criticizing the SEC...who doesn't understand how gruelling a season can be.

i know you didn' include fucking vanderbilt as one of those "four tough games in a row"....

UF has had a really tough schedule, I'll not argue that, but don't pimp Vandy...

Well...If I was saying a then ranked Tennessee was a 'tough game', I have to say Vandy was with the result on Tues!

Georgia is a bunch of homos - they just found the right spot on the schedule. ;)
