I think that widening and lengthening the court would help open the game up even more. I remember the late, great Chick Hearn saying that back in the 80's.

Moving the 3 point line back is a good idea. I agree with Wiggy, that it shouldn't be the most important shot in the game.

The only real way to do that would be by widening and lengthening the court.

I would be down for making the court bigger.

But don't mess with my 3 point line!

I would say that about 75% of the shots I take when I play are 3s. That was even true for me playing high school ball in the mid 90s.

Live by the 3, die by the 3!

Anything that can stop Harden's bullshit I'm in favor of

Calling travels and revoking the 2009 travel rule changes and calling them (aka making the euro step a travel again) would be a good start

Widen the court, get rid of hand checking and where you can shoulder charge. Give them some pads and we have the NFL. No tackling though, that is a big :nono:

In all seriousness,

While Harden's BS is annoying, freedom of movement is great for the game. Because for the first time since the 80s, actual basketball skill is as important as raw athleticism.

You mean like calling traveling?
Well that would wreck the league. I mean that bullshit where he sweeps the ball up into the defenders arm and gets a shooting foul

How?

I mean the worst part for me is it trickles down and now terrible travels like the eurostep are ignored even in college as well.

The league would adjust fine if they called real travels, and carries.

Oh I agree with that I was just being snarky about how everyone does it

Harden is the main culprit on his arm sweep bullshit. Durant is starting to do it too. It's totally bush league

Kobe was a master at it.

It was frustrating ring cause he wouldn’t even take a real shot. Just throw himself into the defender.

See that awful ray Allen call in the finals

Yeah,

I hate that call. If the offensive player iniates contact it should be an offensive foul if the defender has legal guarding position and no call if they don't.

The offensive player should not be able to draw a foul by jumping into a defender no matter how out of position they may be.

I don't really have a problem with players doing it, but I do have a problem with the league not doing anything about it.

That may sound a bit counter intuitive, but the way I see it, it's guys doing whatever they can to help their team win.

It's like the flop or guys kicking their legs out on jumpers to draw fouls ala Reggie Miller. If the league is going to reward guys by sending them to the line, guys will do it.

So, I agree that the league needs to step up and put a stop to it, but until they do, I want the guys on my team to be really good at it. lol

Oh, totally agree.

It is an issue with the rules, not the players who use the rules to their advantage. Same goes for flopping. You use everything you can to help your team gain a competitive advantage.

Flopping should've been a tech basically once Flopper Ginobili got into the league. No one flopped like Manu. That is what he was truly good at.

that and traveling.

As a Lakers fan I take exception to this.

I'll take Vlade or Derek Fisher over Ginobili any day. Ginobili was good, but Vlade and D-Fish were Hall of Fame level floppers. Especially D-Fish. He took just enough legit charges, that he got all kinds of benefit of the doubt.

That's exactly why I disqualified Fisher.

Ginobili just threw his body around like players were running around with 9s and shivs on the court.
