They have Shaq but they dont have the offense or shooting to run with the high powered offense. They have nobody to guard KD, they have a ton of guys who can switch on Kobe.
Warriors.

Those Lakers didn't blow a 3-1 lead in the finals either.

Doesnt matter, they added KD. They are unstoppable the way they are playing. Not missing much from outside at this point.

Yeah they played the Sixers in the Finals, one of the worst Finals teams in NBA history. AI carried that team to the Finals lol

The possible two greatest playoff teams in NBA history

Lakers in 6

The 2001 Lakers would have got swept by any 80s Celtics or Laker teams. The 83 Sixers, the Pistons teams from 1990 and the 90's Bulls all would have smashed that squad.

And? How does that change the fact that the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead and the Lakers didn't?

Congrats on making a post that has nothing to do with the thread topic or the post you quoted.

People thinking the 2001 Lakers are an all time great team are no older then 25. 2 hall of famer with a bunch of cast offs and bums. I bet the 89 Pistons bench could beat them. No BS either. The Microwave, Aguire, Salley, Rodman, Budha Edwards would have schooled that 2 man squad.

Ive been watching Basketball since '93 or so. The 2001 Lakers are the ONLY team Ive seen since then where I would have given them a shot at beating the '96 Bulls. Ive seen a lot of great teams come and go and haven't seen any team since Jordan's Bulls that could matchup with them. People seem to assume all Kobe/Shaq lakers are the same which they are not. The 2001 Version was the best as it featured the Best Shaq of them all. Just outside 2000 Shaq. Kobe finally came into his own as a player as well. Jackson was at the peak of his powers as coach running the triangle offense and they got a host of solid defenders on that team they can throw at the GS perimeter players. From Fox to George to Harper to Fisher to Kobe.

It was the best version of the Kobe/Shaq Lakers there was. Lakers have enough perimeter players to throw at the Warriors players and lets not forget the coaching genius of Phil who was the master of making adjustments so Curry/Thompson/Green would be somewhat contained. Durant will get his obviously.. But the X factor was Shaq. In 2001 he couldn't be stopped OR Contained. He was much deadlier in the post season than Lebron.

Shaq was more of a freak of nature than Lebron. And at his peak harder to contain because no one could stop his freakish power on the block. And they had great D. Something the Cavs DON'T HAVE.

Lakers will slow the game down and punish the Warriors. Cavs aren't a great half court team. They want to run too but problem is GS is far better at playing high tempo. Thats their problem.
And if the Cavs had semi competent D this would be a series. But ultimately their Achilles heel is defense. Something they haven't played all year. 2001 Lakers had no Achilles heel.

Warriors are a great team but they aren't on that level. Ive seen enough NBA over the years to know what teams better than the other after 24 years and can see the matchup issues presented.

Phil isn't gonna play "Warriors ball". Hes gonna play HIS ball. He would make Kerr look like a puppet

Cavs/Warriors played injured teams missing key players all post season long.. Lakers also played enough quality teams to get to the finals. Better than ANY team the Cavs/Warriors played this year (With all the key guys missing to teams)

Just Googled top 20 greatest NBA teams and 2 came up with top 20 and 2 came up with top 10 and the 2001 Lakers weren't on any of the four.

Wow you're really still pissed off that the Lakers got to keep their pick.

Grow a pair, cupcake!

Literally the FIRST link on google:

Gallery: Top 20 Greatest NBA Teams Ever

2001 Lakers are #16

So you're full of shit.

Second link on google:

Top 10 NBA Teams of All Time

2000 Lakers are #8

So you're full of shit again.

Those weren't think links I got and #16 means they are the greatest of all time? People are so stupid. So ready to attack. "The 01 Lakers are the greatest team ever". No they arent, I Googled 4 articles and no one even listed them. "You're so full of shit. Look right here, it says there 16th". Dude, isn't that like going against them being the greatest team ever theory?
