I went to the Iowa State hockey camp most summers growing up, as one of my teammates dad was and still is the coach. Dr. Alan Murdoch, one of the best coaches in college hockey and has been here since before I was born. Bob made a couple visits as he was friends with coach Murdoch. (saw him one other time, but was too shy to say anything)

Groups were kinda big and I wish we had more one on one time, but mostly he just watched drills and would lean over the boards and say things to the staff. The funny thing is that we would all want him to give us some advice on what we were doing wrong, but if he did say something to you it was about how well you did a particular thing. It made you feel HUGE! (and now thinking about hockey camps has made me wish I was young again)

very cool story. It's makes it special when you meet someone who you respect and always admired and they end up being an even better person than what you imagined.

Every time you hear former players talk about Johnson they seem to come to the same conclusion that he was just a fun coach to play for. He reminded them that it was still about enjoying what you were doing as much as winning.

Of course flyers and penguins fans will never agree on this particular subject. Pens fans will say that the momentum shifted as they rattled off five unanswered goals, while flyers fans respond with marty biron and shitty defense.

Who knows. But it is still a memorable moment from a run that finished with them hoisting the cup.

I will admit it is a pretty badass thing to just slowly Shhhh the crowd, despite my hate for that rat you guys call Talbot.

As for a Pens fan getting kicked out.. i can live with it, as long as the Pens continue to eliminate the Caps in the playoffs

Well, you have never won a Cup without beating us in a series prior to it. You need us - hahaha! I still maintain the next time we play you guys in a series... we will fuck you up!

I'm not saying in any particular round. Every time the Pens have won a Cup, they've beaten us at some point in that particular playoffs.

In 2008, they didn't get to play us... and they lost in the Finals. They hate us... but they NEED us.
