If Tony Parker can play even average, the SPURS can advance deep.
if Tony Parker flails around and looks like an injured 35 year old, they will be in trouble.

Tonight, Parker was better than I expected. He was awesome. It was a 2007 version of Parker.
They only need to have an adequate average Parker, but with a dominant parker it is an easy win.

I hope he doesnt suck ass in game #2 to offset this vintage performance.

Parker has been the barometer for their playoff performances for awhile.

Its hard to think the vintage guy will be there the whole time. I feel like I've seen this play out a few times before both ways, though.

There's no way the Spurs are going to blow this? Right?

MEMPHIS tried to play physical after realizing that an offensive shootout was impossible.
It caught the sleepy offense fun Spurs off guard, but they quickly re-oriented to their defense.

After Memphis went all defense in the 3rd quarter, The Spurs showed them they can play good defense as well.
It was more fun blowing them out with offense, but the Spurs can muck like Memphis if they have to do so.

An all offense team like Houston would have gagged that lead...but SA is a two-way team.
They are the #1 defense after all.

There is only two teams (GSW and SAS) who can win scoring 120 or scoring 75 points.

acting like a 14 point win is a loss

I like it. Pop can yell and keep them focused after a 14 point win.

best of both worlds for a coach

So I didnt see any of the game. Were the refs that bad? I saw the FT numbers and the Memphis coach going off. I kinda like what he said, just not sure if it is true...

I only watched bits and pieces but from what I saw the Spurs were allowed to be more physical. One play I saw Randolph get absolutely hacked and nothing was called. I swear I heard the slap through my tv.

Damn that sucks. I know Memphis thrives off their defense and their offense struggles. It is hard watching a game where your team gets no calls. Maybe it is better in Memphis

I checked out the replies to the tweet i posted and lots of neutral fans saying it was poorly officiated

The SPURS were not getting all the calls. Kawahi Leonard was getting all the calls.

That is a big and important diffrence when it is one player...and not the entire team.
Look at the box score and you see all the fouls were for one player.

The Grizzlies caught a bad break with Tony Allen. He would have been the guy defending Kawahi.
Their options are a 40-year old Carter or James Ennis III.

Kawahi is shooting nearly 75% for the series and averaging 35 points.
They have nobody to defend him whatsoever as long as Tony Allen is injured.

@WiggyRuss could defend Kawahi better than those guys.
The Spurs are not fucking stupid. They let those stiffs helpless foul over and over.

In game 1, they backed off, and Kawahi lit them up with shooting.
In game 2, they played close, and he abused them on the way to the free throw line.

Lebron would have shot 50 free throws if Memphis defended him with those guys.

Those refs really sucked bad tonight.
The 2nd half was especially pathetic.

Fizdale fired up about officiating
Grizzlies coach David Fizdale criticizes the referees for the free throw differential in the Game 2 loss against the Spurs before storming off.

Lebron has never gotten that many free throws and he goes to the hoop a lot. Maybe most are just afraid to get in his way lol
