Spurs getting to rest their players during a playoff series is ridiculously advantageous. Making up for last years tough first round draw.

Memphis is battering them, mauling them, and playing some of the most ferocious defense imaginable.

It reminds me of a 1970s slugfest brawling style....

San Antonio is not getting any easy rest. They are being attacked defensively. Memphis is impressive with effort.
I think they had a season high number of turnovers last night.

The problem is that Memphis has zero offense. They don't have anyone who can score points on the roster with the exception of maybe Z-Bo.....but he is swarmed by all the Spurs gigantic big men ganging up on him.

Kawhi has played 28 minutes and 27 minutes. Aldridge has played under 27 both times. Duncan has played under 22 each game and everyone else on the team is averaging 20 minutes a game or less. That's huge.

But, they are getting roughed up.

Memphis is severely depleted, talent-wise.

But, they play with a lot of heart.

I still think the Warriors have the easier series.

The Red Rockets have simply laid down and refused to fight.

Some minutes are rougher than others. I am worried the Spurs might get an injury soon.
Pop in controlling minutes because his players are getting beaten up by a relentless Memphis physical mauling.

Even single play there are elbows in the ribs, hip checks, grabbing, pulling, hard fouls, etc etc
Memphis can probably even win some games with this relentless strategy.

I would not say they are playing dirty, but they are not really trying to play traditional basketball.
They are trying to turn it into a wrestling match.....and make the SPurs mentally unravel or snap.

I understand it. That is their best chance. I don't think it is bad strategy either.
That first game in Memphis might as well be a UFC event.
