I did. The Spurs are old and slow

The SPURS are not particularly old nor slow. They have a nice mix of youth and experience.
unfortunately none of them are particularly massive muscular guys in size.

They got beat by the Thunder' size which is not a function of age or speed.
It is a function of simple raw size.

Adams is not fast, but he is massive and powerful. His size almost singlehandedly won it.

The SPURS gave up a lot of size to sign Aldridge when they dumped Splitter, Baynes, and Bellinelli.
It is worth it...as you can slowly add size as roleplayers in the next few years...but it was obvious in this series.

The SPURS were very good in transition for this series.
They were not very good in the halfcourt at all.

I'm going to give Billy Donovan a wee bit of credit for the Thunder's recent success...Mo Cheeks too.

Nonsense. They were so slow off their feet it was almost sad to watch

People sitting here saying OKC can't compete with Golden State.

People said the same thing about OKC competing with the Spurs and look what happened.

That's why they actually play the games.

I'm not sure that anyone is saying that OKC can't compete. Just that they don't think OKC can win the series. For myself, I expect OKC to be very competitive. I just don't think they are going to win the series.

I seen one or two actually say that. Purguy is the one who comes to mind.

Rooting for okc because attending a finals game would only require a 3 hour drive.

The fact that that result might also increase the Cavs chances at a title is just a happy coincidence. :)

I agree.

But, a case could be made that Detroit " competed" with the Cavs in the first round.....

Obviously, this won't be a sweep.

But, I just don't think this is a winnable series for OKC.

It should be noted that I said the same about OKC vs. The Spurs....lol

Certainly not me. I have OKC winning this series. The Dubs are not playing well and OKC with that big lineup is playing extremely well and will give the Dubs everything they can handle and more. I've got the Thunder in 6. However, if it does go 7 somehow, I like the Dubs to win at home.

Nonsense. They were so slow off their feet it was almost sad to watch

In terms of NBA speed rating

Mills, Green, Parker, and Leonard are all rated as faster than anyone in the Thunder rotation besides Westbrook.
Mills, Westbrook, and Parker are all amongst the 10 fastest players in the entire league.

Mills might be the fastest player I have ever seen wear a SPURS uniform since its founding.
I cannot remember another SPUR who possessed the raw speed of Patty.

The SPURS are neither old nor slow.
The myth of their age and plodding completely ignores the birth certificates and raw speed of the roster.

The THUNDER won with their size and rebounding.

None of those guys you mentioned are bigs. The San Antonio bigs are too old and slow and were humiliated by the OKC bigs. Made to look like fools in fact.

Aldridge dominated. He is neither old nor is he particularly slow.
He averaged 24/9 which is not being humiliated by anyone. He was the best big man in the series.
If the Spurs had found a way to win those coinflip games #2 and #5. He would have been series MVP.

He was the only physically large muscular big man the Spurs have. He played just fine.

Boban has some raw size, but he is too young and inexperienced with the NBA game. He needs a year or two.

Duncan is more slender. He isn't really physically muscular and imposing like the OKC guys.
Diaw, Bonner, and West are all finesse guys.

Once again....size not speed or age.
