If Upshall actually intended to hit him I think it would be worth even more, but IMO this is accidental.

Nasty looking hit into the boards, but I don't think you could reasonably argue that's what Upshall was going for given the position on the ice.

No history either for Upshall other than his game at the World Championships a couple years back (for a hit that was legal in the NHL at the time), right?

didnt really think he'd get suspended.. still dont really think he should.. he was just out of control going to the net, which isn't out of the ordinary for upshall

typical NHL move though, guy receiving the hit gets hurt, so the guy making the hit gets suspended..

This is why Zherdev was put on waivers. If another team claims him or he clears they can spend the money saved on a defenseman.
