Well he had back issues for a while now. If I'm not mistaken, he missed the bubble playoffs due to back issues. Isn't that right @fightinfunbags ?

Back issues doesn't just go away. Ask Michael Porter Jr if you don't believe me
Tis true tis true. But my story was more fun

You're being ridiculous.
  • If the Celtics on offense go straight at Ben one-on-one... shame on them.
  • If the Celtics on defense don't take advantage of all the negatives that Ben brings to the offensive end of the floor... shame on them.
  • If the Celtic don't foul Ben in meaningful situations and make him hit free throws... shame on them.
  • If the Nets take the ball out of Kyrie's (or KD's) hands... (oh my God, I can't believe you're even suggesting that as a strategy)... in order to give the ball to Simmons... shame on the Nets.
You’re getting @ed and Tweeted highlights now if Simmons makes any play whatsoever ha. I’m just glad it’s not my turn. I’m trying to gear up for @bksballer89 v @fightinfunbags 2022 in the second round

1) Facts
2) Easier said than done
3) True but I can see Nash going situational late in games
4) Ben is more of a point guard than Kyrie. I would much rather him initating the offense over Kyrie

Kyrie excels in ISO... that's his game... perhaps more than any player in the NBA.

If Simmons has the ball in his hands... Celtics just gonna sag off him and clog everything else up.

If Kyrie has the ball in his hands... Simmons on the court at the same time is a total negative for the Nets.

Lol yeah adding the best on the ball defender who was first team all defense last year wouldn't matter

Yeah, I forget who it was, but I heard some talking head saying that the Nets should just mothball him for the rest of the season because he isn't going to help much, if at all.

The Nets biggest weakness is defense. If all he does is play defense...that would be huge for the Nets. That's exactly what they need.

Y'all act like Ben can just play defense and the Nets can hockey-sub him out as they bring the ball up on offense.

With the Nets scoring, they can play 4 on 5 on offense. They don't need him to score or even initiate the offense.

Exactly, and you would think he would be eager to do literally anything he can to help the team.

Either he is or he isn't. He shouldn't speak on his behalf like that
He’s the coach of the team, he has to. It’s not like Simmons is going to speak.

But he goes out of his way to pretty much act like any positive report on Ben getting closer is a lie. DId the same crap last weekend

They got KD and Kyrie... so, what you're saying isn't impossible.

Still, a non-shooter out there clunking things up... it's definitely not a recipe for success in the modern NBA.

Maybe he knows the truth, that Simmons has already said he isn’t playing this year.

Meh, he's just trying to keep the pressure off of him.

Yeah what I was getting ready to follow up with. It could be that with every positive report this guy takes a step back.
