Honestly... Simmons isn't a difference-maker in this series... not coming in out of the cold after a year off.

Even as a defensive player... at the highest level in the NBA, you have to play team defense... and Ben's on-court communication/feel with his teammates is almost certainly not where it needs to be.

Whether he's available or not doesn't matter.

I see where he’s coming from. Celtics don’t run a whole lot of iso anymore. When the ball started to move and Tatum started to facilitate it got better. You know how intricate defense is at this level and the need to communicate and sense where your teammate will be, what he is responsible for, what the terminology means, etc…there’s a lot that goes into team defense. I’m with GMan but maybe not to the same degree. If they can simplify a scheme and just tell him he has Tatum all over the floor ok but that is adjustable for the other 4.

Lol yeah that’s what they are saying. There are a lot of people questioning it though because he never really ramped up basketball activities enough to have injured himself in the first place.

• If the Celtics on offense go straight at Ben one-on-one... shame on them.
• If the Celtics on defense don't take advantage of all the negatives that Ben brings to the offensive end of the floor... shame on them.
• If the Celtic don't foul Ben in meaningful situations and make him hit free throws... shame on them.
• If the Nets take the ball out of Kyrie's (or KD's) hands... (oh my God, I can't believe you're even suggesting that as a strategy)... in order to give the ball to Simmons... shame on the Nets.
