I didn't think I could actually be happy with a non-QB pick unless we traded down but that was definitely with the thought that there was no way Chubb would make it to the Broncos pick. He is a very refined pass rusher for coming out of college and should make an immediate impact. Throw in the high character of the player it just makes this pick a homerun for the Broncos.

Couple of stories that stuck out to me about him...1) He said that every interview he went to he showed up in a suit because he wanted NFL teams to know that he means business. He plans on putting in the work required to be great.

2) His coaches talked about how in practice the guy just ran everywhere. If they were in between drills he ran to the next drill to get there first. He wanted to set the example that even though he was king on that defense that to get to that level you have to put in the effort.

It’s a pity he wasted good money on a suit, and probably even a tie and matching handkerchief, since the team that drafted him never bothered to interview him!!

They did interview him at the Combine. So one of his suits didn't go to waste.

I think a front 5 of Chubb, Shelby Harris - Peko - Wolfe - Miller - is a buzz saw and that's with Gotsis and DeMarcus Walker getting plenty of snaps.

I like Chubb better. Much better motor. Huge difference, IMO. I had a hard time with Garrett going #1 last year. Anytime you have a pass rusher who is known for taking plays off and not giving 100% less than 85% of the time I really cringe. You gotta love them motor pass rushers.

That's the thing with Chubb the motor and the willingness to clean up a ball carrier - as well as the passer.

I feel like with Chubb we will never have to worry about the little things stopping him from being great. He's gonna give EVERYTHING he has to allow him to succeed.

Don't know how valid it is but.... sounds like the Browns are leaning Nick Chubb with the first pick tonight.

Hoping Harold Landry is one of the guys to go before our pick. Like him, a pure pass rusher, but we are pretty sure wearen't going another OLB, so lets get him off the board early.

Garrett went earlier because he is far and away the better athlete. Freak. Chubb is just solid. Better football player today but he doesn't have the explosion Garrett has.

Right. Garrett has the tools, doesn't have half the motivation and determination Chubb has.

Denver has gotten back to drafting football players and not athletes. Garrett takes plays off. They probably could have skipped the combine events because they drafted character guys that can play football. Who cares about a 40 or standing broad jump numbers.

We really focused on character, leadership, hardworkers and production this draft.

Elway had a theme.

all i'm saying is Garrett was viewed as a generational talent because his potential dwarfs his peers. It may take some time, but if you can harness that talent we are talking an incredible player. Garrett would have gone 2 overall in this class imo.

Garrett compares to Clowney in that regard. Chubb is more like Bosa. Much more refined and technical. Not as versatile due to not being in the same tier in HWS (like Clowney and Garrett can play 9 down to 3.)

Chubb will have a better rookie season than Garrett or Clowney did, and playing across from Von is as good for Miller as it is Chubb lol but Chubb isn't 'generational'. IMO, he is best off being Robin to someone else's Batman... so its a perfect pair and fit w/ him and Miller.

Either way, only way this pick isn't an A+ is if we are looking for a franchise QB 2 years from now and one of the Josh's goes on to be a stud. Time will tell, but I'm ecstatic to have Chubb w/ Von.
