3-2 now?
Really risk something, maybe.
As things stand... they've put nothing on the line. Quite the contrary, if anything these players have gotten support from most every direction.
With regards to this latest turn of events: Big media is going to line up to applaud this "boycott"... the NBA itself will likely be supportive, as well... I'd be shocked if there was even a fine...
Sweet, easy gig... this "fight for Justice"...![]()
them calling the attorney general. hey arrest that cop.. oh okay. our basketball team said arrest him so i guess we have to
I get the spirit here but if Milwaukee really wanted this to be meaningful they would demand it count as a forfeit
Its not really impactful as a sign of sacrifice if theyre not losing something to do it.
Saying "we value change over winning a game" has much more merit than " we are so mad we are going to wait 48 hours to play a game"
If all of that is such a meaningless gesture... why did they push for it in the first place?
Now they want to do "more"... and their idea is...
... another meaningless gesture? (a "boycott" that is really a small delay)
Pretty weak sauce from a privileged, insolated elite.
Too lazy to update, i live In Florida 4 months out of the year...That is probably more than most "heat fans"
As for the Mavs, the all white team is why i back them 100%
Could easily happen.
Heck, my team decided to boycott the playoffs at the start of the season.
so how do they explain playing again this post season

I hear you... at the same time, big $$$ launches one into the stratosphere pretty immediately. Most of these guys are less than half a decade separated from how they grew up. I doubt they truly feel elite. LeBron James? Sure. Dude has a decade and a half of being filthy rich.

Will their phone call result in an arrest?
Maybe.
Will the arrest result in conviction? Almost definitely not.
Will the attention drawn to this issue cause change in police policies?
Again, maybe.
They are using their platform to promote change. This tact has a much better chance of leading to change than had the Bucks just played their game.
Wonder if the rest of the games are boycotted too? I venture to say no since it happened in Wisconsin
Yeah, that'll be interesting to see. Apparently the Magic were on the floor ready to play. So either they didn't know, or they had decided to play.
And with that everyone turns on hockey and baseball...
