If they just play any "boycotted" games at a later date... would be a pretty easy, painless and unmeaningful gesture.

Easy, yes. Painless, mostly. Not meaningful? It's a way to speak up, like raising a fist at the Olympics. Was that meaningful?

Also, I’m not sure one could describe any sports org as being “fully” supportive of protests. The NBA’s acceptance of BLM, IMO, helps cover their reprehensible silence and kowtowing to the CCP over Hong Kong.

Boycotting, but still want to be paid lol

If they don't play the games, they won't be paid. If they play them later, they will.

Doc Rivers said something last night during his emotional postgame interview. He talked about how the players all feel quite powerless, trapped in a bubble and not being able to get out there and do anything to show support. All they can do is say things and wear slogans on their shirts.

So this is their way of making a statement....
If all of that is such a meaningless gesture... why did they push for it in the first place?

Now they want to do "more"... and their idea is...

... another meaningless gesture? (a "boycott" that is really a small delay)

Pretty weak sauce from a privileged, insolated elite.

It's getting noticed. What else can they do?

So basically they are just wasting time, well accomplishing nothing

Bringing attention to it. Making a statement. All anyone can do is keep the pressure on so police departments get serious about fixing this.

Boycott the entire playoffs...That would be an actual stand...

Not saying they'll lose the series but if playoffs Khris is still around if/when the Bucks play Miami, they're going to have lots of trouble winning 4 of 7 against us

I think the bucs would win but my 2 favorite teams in the NBA currently are the Heat and the Mavs...I wouldn't mind seeing that as a finals matchup tbh

Could easily happen.

Heck, my team decided to boycott the playoffs at the start of the season.

Wait, you switch teams every year? Why do you still have the Nets and Cavs logos up?

Really risk something, maybe.

As things stand... they've put nothing on the line. Quite the contrary, if anything these players have gotten support from most every direction.

With regards to this latest turn of events: Big media is going to line up to applaud this "boycott"... the NBA itself will likely be supportive, as well... I'd be shocked if there was even a fine...

Sweet, easy gig... this "fight for Justice"...

Too lazy to update, i live In Florida 4 months out of the year...That is probably more than most "heat fans"

As for the Mavs, the all white team is why i back them 100%
