I may have the minority opinion here but the money is already spent. I would run it back one more time in 23-24 if I’m the Clippers. I don’t know that I resign Westbrook. I would see what I can get through trade shopping Mann, Morris, Covington, Zubac. I think Clippers are too perimeter oriented. I would like to see both the Suns and Clippers benefit from trading/bringing in Ayton. A premier center isn’t need in Phoenix now with KD, they just need a body there for lobs and rebounding. They need wing depth which Clippers can provide. Meanwhile, I think Ayton can help bring Clippers wings some help.

I'm reading the most LA can give Russ is 3.8

Yeah, over 4 years.

Why is Ty letting this go on?

Clippers are getting snuffed.

At least let him keep his dignity.

Just sit him down, especially after taking that 3.

Enough already.

Because of the injuries to PG and Kawhi, you were in the same position with him that the Lakers were...had to play him and hope he can turn it around at some point.

Absolutely

I don’t know why people think they should run this back.

4 years of the same shit.

Because they have been so good the few times when they have been healthy at the same time, folks get into that..."if they can just get 1 healthy season together or even 1 playoff run" thinking.

I feel bad calling him a malingerer now. A torn meniscus is the real deal.

LEONARD is the worst superstar in the league.
And its not any indictment of his talent or leftover Spurs bitterness. He is talented, and he has the right to play where he wants.
But he fails as a superstar role in every measurable way because of his personality and injury woes.

Obviously he is never healthy despite being coddled with load management days nonstop.
But Is he marketing the team? Is he being the face of the team regardless of injuries?
Is he considered a team leader and whips the younger players into line?

With the Spurs, it was more of letting the twilight years of Duncan/Ginobili/Parker be the superstar faces and leaders.
With the Raptors, it never felt that he wanted anything to do with Toronto and was an efficient robotic presence.

No.

You giving those guys contract extensions this summer?

They are both eligible.

Doesn’t even matter now.

Kawhi tore his meniscus.

What moron GM is gonna trade for him?

That’s what im saying. The calculus all points to the Clippers taking one more swing with PG and Kawhi. You don’t extend them though. Parting with them now you aren’t getting value back. So why the need to bail now? When are you out from under all the draft capital that went to OKC?

Oh, I agree. It's not all that different for the Lakers with AD and Lebron.

The only difference is...the Lakers got that one playoff run with both of them healthy.

At this point, it seems their best option is to move them for what they can now (although, the meniscus news makes that tougher) and try to use the return plus salary cap to have a competitive team when they open the new arena.

Bro, Kawhi doesn’t play hurt.

He most definitely won’t play hurt without a contract extension.

He will pull the same shit Kyrie did.

Except, Kawhi won’t be bluffing, he really won’t suit up.

*see Spurs before Raps trade.

He gots to go.

I defer to you. You follow it more closely than I do and have the emotional investment as well.

Try to get some of those picks back.

SGA and 5 first rounders for PG13 was the biggest fuck up looking back at it now.

At the time? For the potential it was worth the risk.

Get a fresh start in. They get to leave the Crypt in 2024.
