Hats off to the Lakers for coming out and playing smothering defense right away. Especially Lebron. How the *&%# is he 40?

With Conley not handling the ball as much, that is exactly how to beat the Wolves. Just hard nosed on the ball pressure. They have caved all year to that. It is why a matchup with Houston is troubling. It is why a matchup with OKC is nearly hopeless.

You can flip that around and say the Lakers didn't show up with top effort in game 1. Seemed evident they fixed that, now just need to hit more shots. Both teams were atrocious last night from 3.

Safe to say, the league won't be using last nights game as a promotional video on how the game should be played.

That 4th quarter especially for the Lakers they looked worn out with dead legs. Wolves had their low point early.

Oddly enough, the Lakers' best 3 point shooter last night was Gabe Vincent, who Reggie Miller was calling out early on for being in a shooting slump and needing to step up. That he did.

AR played much better overall (both he and Luka were actually competing defensively), but that 0-6 from 3 hurt.

I will be honest and say that outside the first quarter, the Lakers offense was very sub-par.

You can not go into a playoff game and only score 36 points in the second half.

lol

So, even Reggie Miller is against you?

I guess he's telling the refs to cheat for the Lakers?

Look, The refs weren't the reason the Wolves lost that game. But they were absolute horse shit from beginning to end. It evened out, but it was still equal opportunity awful. By the way, what does Luka have to do to get T-ed up? Punch a ref?

If we're talking techs, lets talk about the scissors lock on Luka by McDaniels from the floor (I think it was him?).

That was dumb. Intentional or not, Jaden needs to have some awareness. I'd have rather him hard foul him while they're both standing straight up.

Yet, your quote was about how it's expected when playing the Lakers.

The refs weren't on their A game for sure. There was a lot of physical play and things got chippy. It didn't seem like they could decide between "letting them play" and calling a tight game. But it was called the same way on both ends of the floor and in the end, that's all you can ask for.

Luka needs to stfu. He complains so much that even when he has a legit gripe (like when the T-Wolves player locked his foot between his legs), the refs don't want to hear it. He says he knows it, but he doesn't appear to be doing anything about it, since he keeps doing it.

He's going to end up getting tossed at some point and cost the Lakers a game.
