Bottom line, Sixers didn't hit their free throws at their usual clip.
Told you guys about Brunson a few weeks ago. He is treated like he his Houston Harden with the bs they calll for himI hear ya. It’s the coach’s job to fail safe a call to protect his team from blatant incompetence.
Let’s be honest though. As we sift through 2 games worth of performance from the refs this accounts for an important time in the game but only a fraction of the complete fuckery that’s taken place. The standard at both ends of the floor for what is permissible with contact has been widely inconsistent. Brunson’s grifting has become disgusting. Hes flat out doing exactly what the league put on the Trae Young James Harden video. I watched 16 months of James Harden doing that grift and it not being rewarded. Brunson hasn’t earned what Harden has earned in this game. It’s disgusting what he’s been allowed to get in this series.
Embiid missed 4Bottom line, Sixers didn't hit their free throws at their usual clip.
He hasn’t been useless though. He’s done a great job on Brunson. If Nurse wants more offense out of the “others” he has to call shit for them. Every set seems to be Maxey/Embiid two man game. They need to run shit for Oubre Harris and Hield if he wants to get them going.
When Hield and Embiid are out there together, where are the DHOs that Redick had????He hasn’t been useless though. He’s done a great job on Brunson. He (like all of the Sixers) need to do more as a rebounder. That’s not on Nurse. That’s on hustle and will.
You’re focused on a sliver of the fuckery that’s gone on in this series.
Nurse called time out at two different times. This has all been verified by video. Your narrative was pretty neat though. Would read again.
Yes he most certainly did. They were close to a 5 second call and he signals for a time out. It’s all on video. He absolutely did NOT call a timeout before the ball was inbounded.
So you’re not saying he didn’t call a time out. You're saying he didn’t fail safe an incompetent crew and walk on to the courtIf he had, he would have walked out on the court and done so just like every other coach would have in that situation and Lowry wouldnt have thrown the ball in.
If his decision was an immediate timeout, you’d be right. He wanted to play on with a time out and not let Knicks set up. That changes when Lowry can’t immediately inbound and then he calls time out. That’s his right and it’s the responsibility of one of the three officials to see it. Literally their job in managing the game. You’re wrong. Not meekly sat in the coaching box. That's not how you call a timeout and they know this.
You don’t understand. He didn’t want the time out immediately. He wanted the time out after the ball didn’t go in right away.Have people not noticed what timeouts look like after a made basket? Coaches walk on the floor and call it and the player never inbounds the basketball.
Maxey has two hands on the ball while on the ground. He is in clear possession there. Additionally, his ability to get possession was hindered pre inbounds by a foul on Brunson that went uncalled and then a foul by Hart which knocked Maxey to the ground. And once the ball leaves Lowry's hand, Maxey never gains enough possession of the basketball in the scrum that follows to be considered possession where the refs could grant a timeout even if they were looking at the bench.... which is not where they would have been looking.
You don’t understand the responsibilities of officials in this moment. You should sit this out. One person on the crew is responsible for having eyes on the inbounding coach. This is true of officiating at the high school college and pro level. You should sit this one out. You don’t know what you’re talking about.A coaches hands arent some magical button that instantly stops the game the moment he puts them together in a certain way. And it’s not like they would be able to hear Nurse calling for one at the Garden in that situation.
This is just one layer of about 12-15 things they have issue with when it comes to how this series has been officiated. The 76ers know all this.
Them using it as an excuse post game is nothing but a distraction hoping people dont realize how f'ing stupid they were.
Nope. Not when the toughest thing to get in that situation is the ball going in from the baseline. This was an EASY coaching decision that they fucked up. You call the timeout and advance the basketball.
Nothing incompetent here. Nurse didn’t want the immediate time out. He wanted the ball in to Maxey who shoots fouls at an 88% clip. Ball goes to Maxey. Maxey gets fouled. Sixers got fucked. And then postgame made the excuse of "I tried" as a way to protect their coaches momentary incompetence. Nothing more, nothing less.
You gave me a heads up on Knicks Twitter too. Holy shit those fuckers are dumb.
Yea it’s bad. Only Celtics twitter can compete with themYou gave me a heads up on Knicks Twitter too. Holy shit those fuckers are dumb.
A shit league you follow every day lolIt's really fucked up how bad the refs were. Such a shit league.
Putting a team up 2-0 makes the series longer?Did Maxey being held have anything to do with him not being able to secure the ball?
In reality, this just makes the series longer, which is what the NBA really wants.
The 2 seed couldn't win without any help?Yup, when it's the team that can't win without help.
There is no defending the foul. There were multiple clear fouls on the play.
I don't have a side here, I just want the correct call to be made.76ers team is just a bunch of fake whining bitches at this point.
The timeout excuse isn’t even real. It’s just them making false excuses for them fucking up.
If they really wanted to call a timeout there, you know what they wouldn’t have done? INBOUND THE BASKETBALL. That’s how you know they were never trying to call the timeout. Inbounder would have put down the basketball and walked to the fucking bench just like they do on every other made basket late in a game where teams are actually trying to call a timeout.
If they pass the basketball in and THEN call the timeout, they don’t get to advance the basketball past half court which is the main reason you call the timeout in the first place. That’s how you know they were never trying to call a timeout there.
And once the ball is passed in, you need control of the ball and the officials attention to call a timeout. Something they never had.
This is a terrible look for a professional team. Trying to lie in the media about their intentions just to cover up the fact that they collectively pissed down their leg and hoping that people don’t know enough about the game of basketball to make it believable. Anyone with any basketball sense knows what a timeout after a made bucket looks like. And that aint it. The fact that it is being brought up by people still is sad.
