These are some good pointsIt's a stupid loophole. Imagine a football game where a team is up by 8 with seconds left to play, but they can commit a penalty that concedes 7 points. No 2 point conversion allowed.
Yeah, the other team can still win if they recover an onside kick and connect on a hail mary or crazy long FG, just like an NBA team down by 3 can still tie or win if they make the first FT and get the rebound on an intentionally missed FT, but the chances are close to zero. You shouldn't be allowed to seal victory by committing a penalty. Plus, most fans would probably rather just watch these guys play and see if someone can hit a clutch 3.
