A tie would have kept me in.
A tie would have kept me in.
...and ironically I switched from the Chargers to the Packers.
I understand betting against the Texans, but I doubt I'd have trusted the Jags in an eliminator.Nice job sir.
You are a worthy opponent and Advisary(sp)
You won because I took Jacksonville and you took Tampa

But hey, I was out week one, so my thoughts don't carry much weight
Thank you. I made a derogarory image yesterday to taunt you with, but I thought better of it. lol. I was lucky to win.Nice job sir.

As it stands...Who you got week 6 ?? Really tough week. There are a couple of good picks on paper , but do you really trust them??? Not to mention , you have to have them.
As it stands...
Week 6: 49ers...back-up plan in case of injuries: Chargers
Week 7: Broncos...will probably switch to Raiders or Cowboys
Week 8: open...several options
Week 9: Cardinals
Week 10 Chiefs
Week 11 Patriots
Week 12 Dolphins
Week 13 Vikings
Play it by ear after that.
If you have the Rams available in Week 6 they are the #1 choice as this is really the only remaining week you could pick them, (as the schedule looks right now). Plans change. I had the Chargers in Week 4 but switched to the Packers as the back-up plan due to Herbert's injury. That meant taking the 49ers in Week 6 rather than the Packers. I still have the Bills, Eagles, and Chargers available...plus the Cowboys if/when Prescott is back firing on all cylinders. Generally identify the weakest 5 or 6 teams in the NFL, look at their schedules, and pick good teams against them. Be flexible.
I wouldn't want the Rams at home to the Seahawks as my survivor pick and that's the only game left on the Rams schedule i'd consider. It's a 'don't think twice' pick baring further Rams injuries.I do have the Rams. They are my choice eventhough im real hesitant. I burned Buffalo week 5. Came very close to choosing the Jags. The 49ers kind of break one of my rules. West Coast playing early game thing. The thing is to win it - you have to have 17 different teams. This year there arent as many for sures it seems. Ive learned to not play ahead if possible. Right now may be the only time i feel decent with the Rams.
Obviously you have played it a lot as well. Have you ever made it ?I wouldn't want the Rams at home to the Seahawks as my survivor pick and that's the only game left on the Rams schedule i'd consider. It's a 'don't think twice' pick baring further Rams injuries.
I have a pretty good record at this. I've made it through the season twice in the last 3 years. I only had 1 loser last year. Prior to that I made individual picks on a weekly basis and I had poor results. After a disastrous season I switched to planning things out. That seemed to make a difference. I also stopped trying to be clever by picking poor teams to beat awful teams. I'd rather take a good team to beat a mediocre team.Obviously you have played it a lot as well. Have you ever made it ?

I'd be tempted to take the Patriots as a tactical move. With the Jets doing well i'm not sure there's another week where i'd pick them. The same argument applies to the Raiders. The Buccaneers are the safest choice and if you don't pick them now you might not pick them until Week 17, if at all. Other than the Saints in Week 13 the Buccaneers schedule looks tough after this week and the Saints might look better then than they do now. Tough call but i'm leaning towards saving the Buccaneers for later. Had the 49ers won and kept me in it I would be changing my pick from the Broncos to the Patriots, (with the Raiders as a back-up for injuries), and re-opening Week 11. (I used the Buccaneers already). Tough call. Good luck.Im thinking about TB this week. I do like the Raiders though.

I'd rather take the Cowboys later at home to the Texans than risk them in a QB changing week against a roller-coster Lions team. I'd avoid the Dolphins and Ravens.
Fire sale didn't help. Crazy year.Right. The Raiders are probably my #2 for the week. I did look ahead on the Bucs. Week 17 at home vs Panthers would be the other choice for them for me. I was hoping the Panthers would start their fire sale this week. Ha.
