When I was a teach it was 6 & 7 year olds loved it, the kids loved me cuz I didn't treat them like the mean old teachers!

I also was a counselor for teens and young adults who had downs syndrome, some of the greatest times of my life were spent with those amazing people.

I miss working with kids with Autism. However that was one on one where this job I can help hundreds. You don't need to be mean to gain respect especially with this school. They have already been told they are losers, drug addicts, a whore for being a single mom, and more God awful things. You show them respect and praise the good behavior and ignore the bad is where you gain your success in the classroom. If they don't want to be there then they weed themselves out but they all interviewed to go there so they already made a good choice.

Worked with kids with Autism and Downs Syndrome in HS, it was very rewarding.
