If someone had asked me last week who the best player(s) all time for the Blues was/were I would have gone with one or both of the Plager brothers
BTW, I think of the Calgary Flames when I think of Al MacInnis even though he literally split his career between the two cities.
He was a sniper, but he was also the very definition of a one way player. He would have to come out of retirement and throw a body check just to have one hit on his official stat line.
I always called him a garbage man, because he tended to stand in front of the goalie and shove rebounds into the net.
Yeah, the Flames should retire his number and put his jersey in the rafters (I think it's unofficially retired), but they have a statue of Al outside the arena in St. Louis, he's quite loved in that town.
Was he on the Cup winning team in Calgary?
