Wow. Can't say I'm disappointed i didn't get a single vote. Didn't think I'd win but I thought this would have at least been a bit closer. Since this is my first draft would people mind elaborating on why they picked Milks team? It would help me out in the future.

I feel, on the outside looking in, that people immediately chose his team because of his rotation and good lineup. I'm wondering if people took into consideration my rotation verse his hitting and vice versa. I have 5 hitters 3-7 who all hit 500+ home runs in their careers. My two platoon guys all have awesome power numbers as well. My pitching is still solid and feel like it would have every chance to slow his lineup down to make games at least close.

My bullpen I had a righty left closer combo with Myers and Percival. My two last bullpen guys were career sub 3 eras in locker and Carroll.

Just looking for advice for the future.

I like your lineup better, not extremely better but your 3-7 is better, but I like Milk's 1-2 better so that is why I think Milk closes the gap but Milk's starting pitching is probably the best in this draft (UK is close). His 1-4 is sick but I will say your 1-4 is pretty damn good for only one HOF. Then BP goes to Milk his top 3 are better. Lyle >>> Myers. Eckersley was a HOF'r. Wettland = Percival or close. Even though you have the edge on lineup him having Carlton, Gibson. Those are 2 top 10 pitchers and in this draft, two top 5 pitchers arguably. I wanted Glavine so I could just say, "fuck you" to Milk but I gotta go with Milk but it is closer than others are saying.

Milk in 7 games.

I think the score didn't indicate how close this match-up was. I know I went back and forth. I think most guys saw it the same, a close win for Milk is all.
I thought your lineup was better without question, not a great lead off, but tons of big bats. That said, I think you could make the argument Milk was better in each SP match-up, certainly four out of five. That wasn't enough to completely overtake your lineup, but Milk had a much stronger pen too, so the overall pitching edge won it for him. I had it real close though

@CitySushi - bit of advice - if I like a player, go the other way, no one else will like him.

If @Ritzarmy likes a player - run the other way, not only will no one else like him - but he'll actually suck, too!

And regarding my picks - run the other way UNLESS it is for a NBA draft :laugh3:

Congrats @MilkSpiller22 . Just for the record I wasn't voting for myself. I thought Milk had an awesome team, just was curious to get feedback on why they chose him so I could get a gauge of how to draft in the future. Took me a while to figure out things in the NBA one, but I think I have the hang of it now.

Milks pitching is by far the best in this draft. He has combined it with good enough bats.

Sushi has a SCARY 3-7 in his lineup... problem is the 1-2 is pretty weak... really minimizes lots of what that 3-7 can do... and after that my team is clearly better....

I do wish i was able to get a better 5 starter... might hurt me in later rounds... tough being a pitching first team with a hole in the rotation... Not that there is anything wrong with Gary Peters... he just doesn't fit the elite pitching i needed...

still got me...

I disagree that my 1-2 were significantly worse than Milk's though.

Castillo had a career .290 average with an OBP of 368. In contrast Lofton had a .299 average with an OBP of .372. Lofton obviously had way more steals, but the way my lineup is constructed, the need for steals and manufacturing runs is lessened by the pure power in my lineup. In addition Castillo was a switch hitter who hit well from both sides of the plate.

Second, Shawn Green was a career .283 hitter with an OBP of .355. He also had a peak stealing 35 bases in a year, which shows he had speed. Also platooning him with Foster who was an MVP but also who was a pure power hitter in the 2 hole to hit against lefties provides me additional pop. But Green's hitting against righties was significantly better than against lefties, which is why I opted for the platoon. I won't argue that Garciaparra wasn't the better hitter, but simply the platooning of those two players should close the gap significantly.

I platooned Ventura and Williams as well to give me that advantage in the 9 hole.

Just my additional 2 cents. Rebuttals again are appreciated because I'm trying to learn.

Idk Kenny and Nomar is about as good as you can get for non-HOF in this draft. Kenny is arguably HOF level and Nomar batted .318 for his career
