I'm pretty happy about the prospect of the O's winning the AL East given that my Bosox are not competitive...anybody but the Yanks of course, but I've never been fond of the J/Rays at all. The O's were briefly my favorite team in Ripken's heyday.
(Anybody else remember the "You can call me Ray, you can call me Jay...but ya doesn't has ta call me Johnson!" guy?)
Was looking at our line-up for this second game and we have only three guys that were in the lineup on opening day (and Flaherty only was due to Manny being out). Only one is at the position he played on opening day (Schoop). Only 5 of the guys were on the opening day roster at all (Cruz, Lough and Pearce all listed outfielders, Schoop and Flaherty in).
Chris Davis? Who's that ... and who needs him? This team will be just fine. Buck and the FO did a hell of a job getting the right pieces to fill in at every position. I'm happy with the results. They are too jelled and focused to dwell on 3 players that can't be on the field for their run.
