Game Thread: 12/16/2014 Warriors @ Grizzlies, 5:00 PST tip-off

I hear that Bogut is officially OUT for this game. Don't know about HB, but I know that we sure could use him for this game.

Memphis has been pointing towards this game for some time now. I believe that Memphis will definitely play Curry tough on the screens, not allowing him to turn the corner and create. Curry will get less than his average and may not shoot a great % from the field. The Warriors need really good performances from about everyone to win this game. TOs need to stay below 15 for sure. Look for Thompson to go for 30+ and for Memphis to control the game, meaning to lead for much of the game. The Warriors will make a run, but do they have enough to stop the bigs for Memphis? The Warriors will have some guys (D. Green, Speights) in foul trouble. I hope that HB is okay and can go for this game. He'll be sorely needed.

This is a game where the Warriors are going to need to go small, push pace, and shoot well from the outside to win. With Bogut and Lee out, we don't have enough guys to match up to bang with Gasol and Randolph.

If I'm Kerr, I lean on a small lineup, with an immediate double of the post as soon as Randolph or Gasol touch the ball. Make Memphis shoot the ball from the outside to beat us. The Warriors will need to rebound the ball and help eliminate second chances too.

Offensively, we'll need to have shooters to space Gasol and Randolph out of the paint. They're not gonna chase Draymond or Barnes all the way out to the 3 point line consistently. We'll need big games from those two guys tonight.

The Grizz are a fun team. About the only team that likes to play slow ball, pound it down low, work for a good shot etc. Really, about the only team in the NBA that does it that way.

Agreed and at 19 and 4 I'd say they do it pretty well.

After 2...Memphis leads 57-49. Steph was 0-4, AI 0-3 from downtown in the 1st half. Klay went 3-3.
The Dubs are a resilient bunch, but we really could have used Bogut +/or DLee in this one.
Good to see HB in the lineup too.

Yeah ref fail for sure, but the Ws are hanging in there, missing key players. Good sign. They were gonna lose this game.

Only red flags (plenty of time to correct): their record is built on a lot of bad teams, and as a team that relies on shooting they can go cold.

In the playoffs all the teams are good, and shooting teams have trouble.

Still this is the best Ws team I can remember watching and that's pretty cool.
