age/expectations...
age, thats why, and expectations, thats why.I have no idea how Bogaerts fits into a discussion about how Harper has or has not gotten his career off on an HOF trajectory.
Well, with the exception of your need to relate everything to Boston sports, no matter how tenuous the connection is.

you said he is on a HOF trajectoryYou have to be trolling.
I'm not wasting my time today.
you said he is on a HOF trajectory
1 similar HOF batter, 2 by age
thats all
and xander has 115 more hits over the last 3 years.
and shockingly? xander only has 40 fewer RBI over that time.
xanders played in 50 more games.
this is why WAR is not something to rely on solely.
i know right?Good luck.
thats based on metrics at hand. so at age 32, harper will be halfway to 3k hits and will have fewer HR than jim rice .
he gets tired every year. hes the chris sale of SS's.and I haven't given up on Bogaerts. He had a disappointing year, but he was clearly not the same after getting hit in the hand by that pitch. Even if he doesn't blossom into a superstar, he's still a very good SS and a key part of the team. I just question whether he'll ever be much better than 2015-16. But trying to compare him to Harper is laughable.
jim rice was an OFer"please, can we talk about Boston sports?"
lolz
i know. i saw it. so harper has 1 more similar HOF batter than xander.and if we're going to play the similarity scores game (which are stupid to begin with):
