The Indians probably would start Ryan Merritt and Trevor Bauer in that series because they're so much better they'd just want to make it more sporting. Maybe even for games one and two.

so, my girls ex...shyans dad...takes her once a weekend. we decided yesterday was better due to the weather.

so jess sleeps in, a lot. shes comatose.

joe (her ex) used to hit her, a lot. she had PTSD...no joke. its bad.

so, he texts her all morning about picking up his daughter. jess finally gets back to him at 10 am (hes supposed to get her at noon, plenty of time). instead he lays into her on the phone, on speaker phone for me to hear, calling her this and that, saying shes useless, a POS, etc etc...

so i wait outside for him to show up. patiently. he pulls in with huis eldest daughter (15) in the car. i approach him to hand him the car seat and say "i need to talk to you alone, out of earshot of your kid. come with me for 5 mins".

he says "you cant make me go anywhere asshole" to which i reply "you have 2 options. A, come with me out of earshot of your daughter, or B, i embarrass you in front of her. make your choice"

"fuck you" he says.

i said "ok, you chose option B". now, i'm 6'3 about 260. hes 5 foot nothing a hundred and nothing...but all bark.

i lean into him, towering over him, and warn him "if you ever.,..i mean ever...call her any names like that again, like a coward, i will calmly walk down the stairs, pull you out of your car, and beat you where i drop you. she is the mother of your child. treat her with the respect she deserves. this isnt a threat, its a warning. next time i wont talk first."

i drop the car seat and walk away, him barking at me about who he knows, what hes gonna do to me, etc. i said "get in your $500 car (he just bought), take your 2 kids somewhere, and maybe spend 5 bucks on them. Would you like $20 so you can do something with your kids? I have plenty of money".

hes broke as shit. never has money.

so, he takes his kids to go apple picking. she gets dropped off 3 hours later. i ask her how the apple picking was.

"we didnt get to pick apples. me and jade had to play in a park and watch kids pick apples because it was $30 a bucket"

the POS didnt have 30 bucks to spend on his kids, but he smelled like booze from the night before...again.

I think the Yankees and Sox are firmly entrenched as the 3a and 3b teams in the AL, by a pretty significant margin

But back in April, id never think that was possible, so feel pretty good about that

I not saying you do, but, you need to let the kids decide for themselves what they think of their dad. Don't put any negative thoughts in their head. It's not a contest. They remember shit like that. If he is a useless loser, they'll figure it out. They won't need you to tell them.

I call it crapshootidity and the MLB playoffs are rife with it. All a team has to do is get hot at the right time.

That said, I do think the Indians have the best odds in the AL of making it to the WS; that doesn't mean shit, though.

As a territory of the USA, Puerto Rico qualifies for FEMA aid. And, Hurricane Irma, now packing 175 MPG/Cat 5 winds, is going to level Puerto Rico. If Injuns/Astros end up in the Championship series, and they probably will, that extra home game could be huge.
