Actually, by that exact measure. Channel Media and Market Research does a New England sports survey every year, and the Bruins came out as more popular than the Celtics. And that's with the Bruins being a fringe playoff team and the Celtics having the best record in the conference.

Also, the Celtics get more people to go to the games because there are more seats for Celtics games. They fill at 99.6% of capacity while the Bruins are at 100% capacity for the year.
