When Kluber is pitching then it does. He absolutely dominates the Yankees so if the Indians are not winning when he leaves the game then it is a major success for the Yanks

Under those circumstances, you're right. Mea culpa. Dick.

Brew Crew took 2 of 3 in LA from the Dodgers. First time they lose a home series since June 5th-7th.
Yeah, what the fuck happened to the Dodgers? They are washed up. :pound::pound::pound:

that's funny, weren't Yankees fans calling it the worst bullpen ever two months ago?

Yankees fans were also declaring baseball dead to them last week. Now they are winning the division. Wonder how much they pay for their fainting couches?

However, if the Red Sox were to cough up the lead to the Yankees, Sale and Kluber would be dead even with 135.2 CY Points.

Kluber has a great shot. His problem might be his innings. He needs to get to 200 or very close to it.

Yeah, missing those weeks hurts him, otherwise he'd probably have the edge right now.

Two amazing seasons these guys are having. Well, except for Sale's starts against Cleveland.

Being the pessimist I am, I HOPE Sales Indians performances were the Indians owning him. I fear the wear and tear of the season is starting to weigh on him and we're going to see more of these type games. Or we're gong to get the Jon Lester injury announcement thing.

I can relate to that.

In fact, I was happy to see Sale kick ass in his start after his first meeting with the Tribe on 8/3, because it helped me sell the Indians' ownership as opposed to him wearing down.

On the other hand, he had a rough outing (by Sale standards) against NYY right before his last CLE start.

He typically is a better pitcher in the first half.

I hope so because the offense is up to its old tricks of not hitting with RISP.
over his last 5 starts

30 IP
8 walks
42 K's
18 ER (5.40 ERA) 1.20 WHIP

but teams are hitting him at a .238 clip over that stretch (.684 OPS)

you know what opponents have hit him at in all of 2017?

.200 (.567 OPS)

hes been due for a correction, even marginal.

hes actually had better numbers in the 2nd half in some areas (.198 BA against, but a higher 3.20 ERA). his BABIP in the 2nd half is .302, and hes given up fewer homeruns/game.

in other words...he will be fine.

he had a 5 game stretch in may that looked similar (may 7th-30th)

32 IP 47 K's, 4.73 ERA, opponents hit him at .238

the red sox are the only...THE only...team in the AL with no regular with an OPS over .789 (Devers doesnt qualify yet)

in all of baseball? there are 3...sox, phillies, and padres...even the mets and braves have at least one!

I guess we'll see.

Tomorrow's start might not be the best barometer though because it's against the Blue Jays and they suck.

<laughs at Mark Shapiro> How's that big, shiny payroll treating you, fucko!
