Do you remember when this team had good starting pitching?

That was awesome...

Tonight and last night seem so backwards to me as to how Bochy managed the pitching. In my opinion, Samardzija should have finished out the inning. He only put one run on, at 1st, with 2 outs. Its a tie game. Don't squander one of your better relievers on a potential one batter matchup in a low leverage situation. It was the top of the 7th and the pitcher was due up first.

Tonight, with the team down by two, pull your starter. He gave up a three run shot earlier and the same batters he had trouble with the first time around are coming back up. He's thrown over 100 pitches and isn't that effective. Yank him for a reliever who's fresh in hopes that he does well and can be lifted for a pinch hitter the bottom of the inning, where the pitcher is due up first again.

It seems like it was just last month.
Obviously I was referring to back when we had a rotation full of Aces, but yeah, a month ago, every one of the starters were playing out of their shoes. Unfortunately, they came back to earth in horrible nose-dives.

It would have been nice for them to at least done it at separate times. Maybe have one or two come back to earth for a few starts while the others continued their success. All 5 at once has been awful.

With the way this offense is going tonight, maybe Holland should have stayed in to hit in the 6th and then get lifted for the top of the 7th. He's only one of three Giants with a hit tonight.

Oh, and its good to see that Moronta is alive and well. Considering his lack of use, it feels like he's the last guy out of the bullpen.

Belt to PH?
And it looks like he took ball 4 and was called out on strikes (at least, that was what it looked like on the pitch tracker). I wonder if Belt's comments are going to hurt him in situations like that.

Well, Mac homered in his first rehab game back. So that's nice

edit: Also, Steven Duggar with an absolutely incredible catch

Why the f isnt Slater on this squad???

I was just looking at some stats for the org, and it is quite jarring that he has not been given a shot.

Duggars bat is what I saw going to hurt his career. He may be a career 4th OFer because of it.

It's unbelievable..... but then you realize it's the Giants and it makes sense.

But if Mac can play all 3 games this weekend, I won’t be surprised to see him up on Monday.

After yesterday’s game, I suspect it is the entire team that is getting the treatment.

The numbers justify jettisoning any of Jackson, Blanco or Hernandez. It really is baffling that they carry all three. Play some kids!

Showing shots of a party boat live on the air could prove dangerous. Just sayin...

I think he'll be able to hit just enough to play everyday. If he gets his K rate back down to normal levels, he'll be fine. He changed his swing a little bit and has started to hit more fly balls which is good (even in SF). He has a solid opposite field approach too.

I like Blanco and Gorkys, and am completely neutral on Jackson. I don’t want to see any of them go. But it is pointless to have all 3. Heck. It is pointless to have two of them.
