I just wanted to say again how happy I am that this dude is our QB. We are so lucky to have such a class act leading our team, a guy that will never embarrass the Seahawks, and will always do the right thing.

Yesterday, before the Kobe tragedy even happened, Russell was chosen by the NFC probowl players to be their starting QB. But Wilson knew this might be Brees last game at the Probowl, and maybe his last game ever in the NFL, and so he gave up the spot to Brees in order to honor him. Brees really seemed to enjoy the gesture as well. Classy.

Then, when news broke of Kobe's death, the players said it was Russell Wilson who gathered them all together to pray for him and the other victims and have a moment of silence. Again, very classy.

He's a good dude. Everything I've ever heard is that it is 100% genuine with him. It rubbed guys like Sherman and ADB the wrong way but they should have accepted who he is.

Exactly... Especially since Sherman and ADB expected others to accept them for who they are... It was more jealousy and envy on their part towards RW imo...

But nonetheless, RW is a very classy, integrous person... Awesome to see a great role model for kids to look up to...

Wilson is a cornball but i mean that in a good way, Unlike say the retired Luck who was a cornball in a bad way lol. To bad it's taking them so long to put a offensive line in front of him. I have NO DOUBTS he could be a 70% completion QB who could easily average 4300 yards a year and 35-40 TDs with less than 7 INT's a year. The hawks want to run and i get that but time to use Wilson to open up the running game. When Wilson is scrambling and rolling out etc etc when he is active and really plugged in and turned on he lights it up. Wilson doesn't need a running game to open up his passing game.

His mobility, athletic nature and his ability to throw the football just makes him a freak. His Arm is as strong as anyones, he throws the best deep ball in the NFL and i would not be shocked if he was the smartest QB in the NFL. That wouldn't shock me one bit and to be honest i think fans on other teams would say the same thing about Wilson ( Minus GB fans ). Time to use this weapon we have been graced with not piss away years. Build your offense around him don't plug him into a offensive game plan/Scheme that doesn't feature one of the best QB's in the nfl like they have been doing.

Wilson has the drive and desire to be the greatest ever but that will never happen on the Seahawks in this offense. Sad to say because i think he is more than good enough to be that QB.

I think with Wilson making plays as the first option would really open the running game that much more. The running itself is real good when our guys are healthy, but it can be even more special when the D has to back off because of the threat in the passing game.

This dude really is a class act. This is a non-trivial donation.

Ya, this is another classy thing to do in a long line of classy things he's already done.

And it should be noted that it says they are donating one million meals, not dollars, but meals. Even a cheap meal must be $2 or $3 dollars so Russell and Ciara are actually donating much more than just one million dollars.

NFL Owners: "Russell just donated 1M meals in Seattle."
Goodell: "And?"
NFL Owners: "Well, don't you think we should donate something?"
Goodell: "........... fine, we'll donate 500."
NFL Owners: "500... thousand, or?"
Goodell: "You guys want the pink shit mid season or not?"
NFL Owners: "Okay okay, sorry!"

Sounds like Jake Heaps in the audio. I know they work 1 on 1 together, and Russell has a high opinion of his QB knowledge. I think Heaps is great on the radio, but it seems like only a matter of time before he is on a staff somewhere coaching QBs if he has this much exposure and influence on Russell.

That's insane, took me a while to catch on that the receiver is BEHIND the soccer net (mostly because I was staring at Russ), so the ball placement has to be PERFECT. That's incredible. I know he's not the ONLY QB that can do that, but still crazy how talented NFL QBs really are.

Don't think it ever got very far. Seahawks were probably just exploring their options in case Wilson was adamant about testing free agency.

Yeah this whole rumor sounds like Schneider went to the Browns and said "So just curious, would you be interested in a deal that centered around Russell Wilson and your #1 overall". John Dorsey laughed for a few seconds and said something "Sure, John. Are you offering him?" and Schneider said "No. Just gauging interest".

I read some comments while I was on break about this and Hugh Jackson said he never got wind of this. He thinks maybe when the GMs were together they were drinking and just throwing stuff against the wall that they knew would never stick.

I think this article had a great run-down on it:

Analysis: Did the Seahawks really try to trade Russell Wilson to the Cleveland Browns in 2018?

Kind of an interesting hypothetical would've been if the Seahawks traded Wilson to the Browns for the #1, #4 and. Maybe we somehow end up with trading down and adding a bunch of picks and possibly ending up with Lamar Jackson, Denzel Ward and a ton of cap space from not carrying Wilson on the roster. Not saying that's what they should've done, but an interesting thought.

I think @flyerhawk hit the nail on the head. Also the article I posted brought up a good point that if JS wasn't doing his due diligence and exploring every option, he wouldn't be very good at his job.

He probably wanted to know what he could get in a trade if he was unable to extend Wilson and was just doing preliminary research on what the team's Plan B could be.

Even in retrospect, the Seahawks don't make that trade. Wilson is a Hall of Fame level QB. Lamar Jackson might turn out to be but probably won't and his skill set is not in line with having a long career.
