No.

Ben has a lot of leeway type privileges, and a big voice on OL FA help in PIT, but not in the draft....not saying he doesn't have any voice in the draft, but very doubtful they would consult with him on a QB.
i guess. they were just tossing the idea around. kinda like brady with jimmy G there. coach and such wanted him, tom pushed him out.

Ooh the Pats and Ravens are teams 32 and 31 for me. Anyone but them, but if it's just those two? It's Ravens.

As good as BAL has looked all season, I'm not sure they will continue it come playoff time. We'll have to see.

As it stands today...if the standings held true KC (3) would play HOU (6) and if KC beats HOU they would come to BAL.

That's a tough game for both DEFs.

I think at some point NE knew that Jimmy G was probably not going to be the long term replacement for TB, so they got something for him while they could.

Most of the time it's not really a bad idea to draft that QB in transition...if you're too early (as NE was with Jimmy G), or just have somebody better (Rudolph/Dobbs), rarely do you have to cut the drafted QB...normally you can get something for them.

oh i agree. But dont forget, BB did not want to get rid of jimmy, that was known. There was alot of press on the brady push to get rid of him

Yeah I heard some of that, but I'm not entirely sure why Brady would want him out...he was never going to take his job as long as he was healthy.

In either case, Ben was making retirement comments, that led to the Dobbs draft and I think they knew he was raw and year later thought Rudolph might be a better back up with potential to take the handoff torch from Ben.

If this thing keeps going for Jackson and BAL, there will be quite a few GMs saying what if.

yeah i suppose, i think it was because jimmy g's contract was coming up, so the pats were gonna have to decide if they were gonna transition out of brady soon , regardless of tom's wants, and bill wanted jimmy, so tom felt threatened. IIRC

Oh I remember the contract situation with Jimmy G, but they were never even considering moving Tom out for Jimmy. Even if BB wanted to keep him, Kraft would never dump TB for the future until he was done playing or could no longer play.

I would probably pull for KC...my brother-in-law's team. I like the Mahomes kid a lot, but for all that like to put Andy Reid at the top of the HC conversations...I think he's just okay in big games.
Yeah, Mahomes is the real deal. Probably my favorite player not named Ben right now.

I wanna have his babies.

Not the KC fan brother-in-law but another BIL that is a Texas Tech alum and he told me about Mahomes in like his soph yr...says he's not the typical system TT QB, this guy will play in the league.

Yeah right...I'm taking this as ho-hum...until I finally saw him play and the arm he had...it still never dawned on me that he would be this good at this level, but he's fun to watch play.

As great as BB is and has been...and they can say what they want about him winning without Brady one season...Kraft knows there have been seasons without Brady, but he also knows there have not been any SB wins w/o Tom Brady.

oh they go hand in hand , its almost a team. one without the other doesnt exist. I think they both have great success on their own, but individually would be far less

Both are probably going down as GOAT and it doesn't bother me...they both have earned it.

But that question will always be there...could BB win one w/o Brady?

Honestly, when he was coming out he was kinda under my radar. I just had him pegged as a boom or bust but there was no way I thought the boom would be this big. He's the funnest guy to watch in the NFL right now. I tune in to KC games.

Hadn't thought of that.... I was just posting on the Bengal board about how funny this move is..... Going back to the one player that has no future in the organization. They are clearly desperate for a win.

I like your angle though. Maybe AJ would only play if they went back to Dalton.

Holy crap are the Ravens good.... As I write this, they are winning 42-6 in LA. About the only thing bad I can say is that maybe they are peaking too soon? They definitely look like the team to beat in the AFC.

Yeah the Ravens are very good. Who would have thought Lamar Jackson would be a QB? I honestly didn't think he would have been good at all.
Also not sure how good a barometer beating the Rams really is? The Rams best win was against the Saints but that was the game Brees got hurt in. If it was a week earlier or later they Rams would have lost.
The wins they have seemed to get their opponent at the right time, Panthers with a hurt Newton, Browns not knowing their identity and Brees getting hurt. Their three other wins against the Bengals, Falcons and Bears really SHOULD have happened with their defense.
