Kelli Tennant: Former sports reporter accuses NBA head coach Luke Walton of sexual assault - CNN
CNN)A former sports reporter has accused newly appointed Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton of sexual assault, according to a lawsuit filed Monday.
Kelli Tennant said she sustained physical injuries and suffered mental and emotional distress after Walton forced himself on her in a Santa Monica, California, hotel room while he was an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors. Tennant says in the suit that Walton continued to make unwanted advances toward her following the alleged incident.

According to all of the reports, it happened while he was working for the Warriors. For the record, I am not putting any blame on the Warriors or any other team. The Warriors should not be held responsible for the actions of one person. The woman at that time wrote a book and asked Luke Walton to write a forward and she went to his room privately to avoid detection. I have mixed feelings about that, but over-all there was a woman one time that was asking me to pick her up and was alone - In My case, she had a chance to ride with the people that she lived with and I thought she was mentally off, so I sent some one else to pick her up for the event. She then proceeded to stalk me, phone call after phone call until I got my number changed. So in summary men have to be smart if they are not jumpers and don't want to end up in trouble.

Actually, they have known each other for 10 years.
She also said that the incident she is suing him for took place in 2014.
She also said that at a charity event in 2017, he allegedly made the "you're killing me with that dress" comment.

Never is when it's he said/she said like that and there are no witnesses.
Plus, folks who know Luke are saying that would be completely out of character for him.
On the other hand, it's not like she has a history of making false accusations.

I just meant it's not some random stranger he brought back to his hotel room and then we have to decide who's lying. They knew each other for years.

And, imo, that's the thing that is the most curious in this situation. They've known each other for like 10 years. She says she considered him a mentor and he wrote the foreword for one of her books.

I think he is innocent, but FWIW, I have never seen a sexual predator exposed that everyone thought he was one before the alleged incident. It's a curious thing for her to come up to his room privately. A smart business person would have met in the lobby in a neutral place where there are witnesses. I have audited many companies in their residential homes with women who usually maintains the books. Forgetting about that thousands of men I have audited having their money controlled by their wives, I have met with people in the lobby of the hotel or at Starbucks, so it makes me think that this is strange and their is more to it. Normal professionals do not meet privately in a hotel room.

I don't really paint her as money-hungry, either. She was engaged to a guy who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident while he was suing the state of CA and Caltrans for damages and broke it off right before he got a $35 mil award. If she was in it for the money she could've just stayed with him.

Agree. Plus, while I'm sure she wasn't making as much as Luke, she still was likely paid pretty well on her tv gig.
It's a weird situation. They've been friends for a long time and from the look of it, either Luke suddenly decided to try to force himself on her or she suddenly decided to make a false accusation to get a payday. Neither seems all that likely.
