Kingsbury is now the OC at USC

That is really lame

Maybe he polled NFL administrators and they advised him to stay in college? If not, he may have missed out on an opportunity in the pros by taking the USC job so quickly.

...or maybe he wanted to bang some hot Cali girls for a year or two first before making the jump to the pros...

Seems like he wanted very badly to be fired.

I’m sure they’re not done cleaning house yet. I would like to see the whole scouting dept revamped, strength and conditioning coaches let go, Zook get his walking papers etc etc...

Is it ego? Pride? Stupidity? How is it, as fans, we see how bad the special teams perform but nothing is changed. They don't want to fire their buddy or ? Just incredible how coaches keep their jobs after repeating the same garbage over and over.

Honestly im not sure. However, as an organization, the Packers usually arent fast to make coaching changes. I think we have alot of turnover this year on the staff and the team.

Interesting how they "Encourage" players to be there in the offseason. If its true, as the article suggests, im curious to know who they are looking at in the college ranks.

I'll bite:

Bob Stoops
Dabo
Jim Harbaugh

The obvious would say Saban but I just don't see GB wanting to go in the direction of a nearly 70 year old re-tread in the NFL.

Obviously with Aaron and the rest of the offense, I feel we're headed the way of the LA Rams and Chicago and the rest of the NFL, and towards an offensive hire.

Stoops is interesting because he came from a defensive background prior becoming a HC in '99 but he was highly successful on the offensive side of the ball and was on the forefront of the current collegiate offensive model. He's also relatively young and out of coaching currently.

Dabo is Dabo. A polarizing figure, young and energetic. It's obvious he's developed an offensive system that benefits his players in the NFL as well.

Harbaugh is a goob but it's hard to discount what he did at San Fransisco. My thinking is that he's beginning to wear out his welcome at Michigan and is looking for another route back to the NFL.

Personally, I would like to see them get a defensive guy. Im tired of seeing the defense look like shit every year. As long as the HC picks a innovative OC then maybe we can finally see a complete team. Meh, who am I kidding, that will never happen................

My wish list isn't a specific person, just a specific structure.
  • I want the HC to oversee the whole team and tie everything together - spending equal parts of his time on offense, defense and special teams. Personnel consultation with the GM is appropriate, but has no GM duties.
  • I want the OC to oversee the offense and call offensive plays.
  • I want the DC to oversee the defense and call defensive plays.

I'll say this, to me unlike college football, the NFL is about riding tides as they come in. Only so often do you get a generational player like Aaron. Think about where Belichick would be without Brady. Hell, 4 years before taking over the Patriots, he was fired by the Ravens.

I hate the defense too however I don't want to waste what is likely 5 years or less left of Rodgers prime, on a coach that isn't going to build this team around him. You can't hate the Patriots model when it works. Give Aaron what he needs now and we'll worry about the rest down the road.

That is why I want Fangio. He can help improve the defense and wont meddle with the offense. Just needs to bring in a strong OC.

I think this would be best case scenario. I’m not sure Fangio is the guy but if he can elevate the D then bring him in.

If they can give AR an Oline that can actually protect him longer than half a second before he has to start running for his life then AR can make up for any other shortcomings the offense may have.

You'd believe that after getting roasted by being late time and again, Kentrell Brice would learn that you can't wait and come to balance. If he is on this team next year they need to have their heads examined...pathetic
