has anyone in this thread agreed with @PhoenixEagles1 ??

Have you read the posts? The last couple have forget to even remember to even include Centers. Oh, and this crucial crucial position finally got someone on the NFL's top 100 list at 87. Such an important position and the guys who actually play the game listed the best Center, first team All Pro at #87 along with the Malcolm Jenkins and Doug Baldwins. BIG IMPACT THEM CENTERS HAVE!

Facepalm cause you have no reply. The BEST Center in the NFL by far got ranked 87 by his fellow players.

My Eagles got the 3rd ranked Center in the draft as a FA cause he didnt even get drafted.

Teams really fighting for those Centers!

What arguments? All I heard was, "Center is so important because they have to call out plays and diagnose blitzes". Just like MLBers do for the D, which, coincidentally, is another lower ranked position.

Uh huh. I havent heard a valid reason why. Every position has a big impact. It sucks when you have crap special teams and teams run the ball back to the 40 every play. It sucks having a crappy Kicker that loses last second games for you. That doesn't mean special teams or kickers are a highly ranked position.

Ive come back with the fact that they NEVER go in the top 15.
Ive mentioned the Eagles got the 3rd ranked Center in the draft because no one picked him.
Ive mentioned that the supreme Center in the league was ranked 87th by his peers with not one other Center on the top 100 list.

But all i get in return is... "Centers are soooooo important"

I've given you plenty of examples.

Yeah, like the need to be smart and anchor the line. It's so patently obvious what every team in the league thinks. They NEVER get drafted with elite top 15 picks. The best one who is a complete superstar was ranked 86th by his fellow players. The Eagles got a top 3 elite prospect cause he didn't get drafted. But according to you, none of this matters. Everyone knows ST, K, RG, isn't high on the importance list and Centers get drafted IDENTICALLY.

If teams thought Center was so crucial to their teams success they'd go early in the draft. They'd be fighting to fix the hole at such a major need if they were soooo important... BUT THE DONT.

IT'S PAINFULLY OBVIOUS BUT ABOUT 3 PEOPLE STAY WITH THE.... "YEP, THE ARE A TOP POSITION" While no GMs in the league agree.

Although all I'm accustomed to is watching a 4-3, I'd rather prefer a 3-4.

I bet if I asked a GM if centers are important they would say yes. Like I said, your hung up on draft position and I'm on the side of importance of the line. I've given examples but you choose to ignore it and keep spewing top 5 pick. You must think all centers do is hike the ball and that's it.

Depends on what draft he has to look up. This thread gets better every day :L

Get out of here with that garbage. I said Centers never go top 15. The best C in the league gets ranked 87 by his peers. And because more DE got drafted than QB somehow he spun that into me saying DE is more important than QB which is such complete crap. 3 QBS went in the top 12 and this was a horrific QB draft. It shows you how important QB is. But, you can grab the 3rd best C prospect from the left over crap pile.

Yeah and they'd say that C are important. They'd also say a stud K and great special teams is important too. That doesn't mean C is as important as QB, DE, LT, CB, WR1.

I went beyond draft position too even though every other less important position gets drafted late just like C. What do you have to say about all world C Fredricks get ranked as the 87 best player in the NFL right next to Malcolm Jenkins and Doug Baldwin. NFL players are saying the same thing as me. Notice at the top of the rankings will all be QB, DE, LT, WR and CB. Notice a trend?

An OL without a good C is akin to a hand without a thumb, it will work but it wont be all that effective. Only reason C's aren't drafted as high as OTs is it's harder to find a quality NFL OT. The draft isn't about importance.

Just stop with these BS rankings. Seriously, who gives a shit who Cam Newton has written down as number 1. You under value the C as to where I value them much higher.

That I agree and this is all in fun does it really matter. You disagree and have a Steeler fan on your side. I have GMs, coaches, NFL players and scouts on mine. Cool?

Dolphins C Mike Pouncey injured (hip): 2/10 to 6/10 Disaster Rating
Mike Pouncey is one of the better centers in the NFL when healthy, but he has had trouble staying on the field. Pouncey played in just five contests last year and hasn't been on the field for the entire season since 2012. It appears as though that tradition will continue, as Pouncey reportedly could sit out the preseason with a troublesome hip injury. This problem could leak into the regular season, whether that's Pouncey being limited or completely out.

This is a huge deal. Center is arguably the second-most-important position in the NFL, and Pouncey is the key to Miami's offense. If you want proof, the Dolphins were 4-1 last year with Pouncey on the field, with the sole loss happening during the Hurricane Matthew distraction. In the other four games, the Dolphins averaged 29 points. In the Pouncey-less contests, Miami was 6-5, averaging 20.9 points.

It's hard to judge this Disaster Grade because it's unknown how severe this injury is. However, given that the Dolphins already fear that Pouncey could be out throughout the entire preseason, it's likely that he won't be healthy come September. If he misses a fair amount of games, this is a 6/10 Disaster Grade. However, if Pouncey is just dinged up early on and healthy by Weeks 3 or 4, this isn't a huge deal.
