when asked about the draft he said WE need play makers in the last 2 years we got a guard and a player that has not played a down its almost like he was making fun of the last 2 first rd picks ... sounds like gruden will have more control over the roster and this looks like a shot to scott mac anyways

I think that comment was taking out of text and ran with as a dig on SM, but in reality we drafted a much needed guard so if it was in fact a dig on SM than he's smiting his nose for his face (or whatever that saying is).

There is not doubt that Gruden will have a bigger role on who we select in the draft. This is why If the two ILB's are gone I think we go RB. By SM getting fired Gruden's clout rose dramatically. Mike Shannhan had this type of power so Gruden wants the same thing. I cant blame him for that.

I think at that point Gruden probably knew Scot was done. That was a CLEAR shot and there is no way he says that unless he knew he could. Now Jay has been known to say what he feels, but my eyes popped when he said it. If you saw the video and heard his tone, you would understand.

I think he likes Scherff, but do agree that he would prefer his 1st rounders to have a bigger impact in his mind. Personally I think Scherff has had an impact. Cousins rarely gets sacked and Chris Chester was a turnstile. It sounded like he placing blame at SM and deflecting.

"Look you want us to have more success than you can't keep sending me guards and broken down, homesick WRs." That's what it sounded lie to me.
