Cry foul all you like. Who we going to get thats better for less??

Grap?? The Patriots want at LEAST a first rounder for him. And this is assuming he isnt the next Oswieler
McCarron?? The Bengals think they can get a first rounder for him.

Kaepernick will be available....

So for all the book reports written on how Cousins really isnt that good and isnt worth the money he will cost... we are back to the same question. Give me some one who IS better and available. Not a maybe, not a well this guy COULD get us eight wins. Because the plan should be to improve on last year.

But he said he wasn't going to hurt the Redskins financially. If its a 2m difference he is going to say no and play on the tag. That tells me he is only about the money. Take 2m less and sign the long term deal. cmon.

Said it before and I will say it again.. I cant WAIT to see how you spin it when a player you actually like wants to get paid a market level deal. Everyone was screaming Kirk should have to prove 2015 wasnt a fluke, he did and now the talk is.. well the numbers were good... but (insert book report here). At the end of the day you dont get to screw up and still pay less.

Then you are proving KC is all about the money when a fair long term deal is on the table. Breed already pointed out is misfires. It was a great post its not all about the numbers. This is the largest contract that the Redskins have ever given so there must be some flexibility. If KC wants to stay here he should be flexible

So 20M is fair. Depending on g money. If he wants more than Luck I call unfair.

Well you are not a part of the negotiations so it really doesn't matter.

Again I ask why?? Because you said so?? And yes Breed did write a lovely book report on why we shouldnt want Kirk Cousins.

But he left out the most important part.... who do we replace him with? He totally ignores the KNOWN fact that in most of those games, despite Kirks obvious suckage.... a little bit of defense would have gone a long way. Now its fabulous that the defense finally played a complete game in week 17.

But if you are saying we should go back into QB Purgatory because Kirk ISNT elite.... news flash.. some one is going to pay him exactly what he wants.

He should be just as flexible as the team was this time last year.

No b/c KC said so. So you really think KC turns down a long term deal over 2mg????

OK so if the 2mg is so little then why do you have an issue w/ him getting this much more?

Breed did point out the misfires and his list was fairly accurate. What he didn't point out was all of the good/great plays KC made. That list would have been 5 times as long. He, and you, also refuse to believe that KC is still a relatively young QB in terms of playing experience and that he can still grow. There is no reason to believe that he has reached his ceiling. This is where the pro KC and the anti KC sides diverge. You anti KC guys view him as a finished product. Those of us that want him here believe that those mistakes list will be halved next year, just as they were this year.

IF IM Kirk, and I know I can play out the tag at $24M or leave $40M on the table to make Dean feel better about it, IM going to play on the tag, and then next year when Washington comes calling IM gonig to start at $35M a year.

Im saying if KC turns it down after the skins offer. He is going to holdout for 2mg?

Actually most of the people that want to see him resigned could care less about how much of Dan Snyders money gets spent. I doubly dont care because I have taken the time to see how the salary cap actually works. The only way a Cousins deal at market value hurts us is if you shoot him in the head two days after he signs the deal.

But when people scream we cant pay him that much, or he doesnt deserve that kind of contract, that a highly Anti Cousins statement right there.

Which is how it should be for most NFL players unless the deal will somehow break the team & put the team in cap hell which this deal will not. This is his one chance to make big money & provide in a big way for him & his family. What human being would not try to maximize their income in this case unless again it will totally destroy the team?

Again - I just don't understand Dean's logic here & I call bullshit that if he were in the same situation he would leave a bunch of money on the table.

The debate is the money. When the draft picks came into the equation people wanted to explore it. Just b/c you don't believe he isn't worth more than Luck doesn't mean you are anti KC.

And again if you are implying that this is a relatively small amt of money then why do you have such an issue with him wanting to get this much more money? Who gives a shit how it compares to Luck or anyone else. It is widely accepted that these amts go up every year & this is not primarily based on being the best at the position - just being in the rt place at the rt time.

b/c KC said himself he wasn't going to hurt the Redskins. People believe he is asking for more than market value. that is where the friction is.

OK so by your logic, Matt Stafford and Derek Carr should NOT get more than Luck right?? Because you can bet your last dime both of them will get more than Luck did.

How is he hurting the Redskins? They have lots of cap money & can still make a lot of moves even after he gets the extension.
