Just because Washington made a habit of signing guys who came here for no other reason than the money does not mean that every player will go into the worst possible situation for a few extra Million.

If it were that easy, The Browns would never have a problem attracting Free Agents, because they generally have plenty of cap space. Cousins is still young for a QB. And if he plays this right he has another 8-10 years to play. Why risk another possible $90M via the third contract, to make an extra $15M going to someplace liable to end your career?

its an extra GUARNETTED Million. That is what makes the difference. You cant ask KC to predict what is going to happen on his 2nd contract. All these guys want security. So if its an extra 5-10mg he has to take it. Its rare that Qb;s last over 10 years like you are suggesting.

If he gets a five year deal with $80M guaranteed and a total of $130M, and he plays four years of that... he likely would make that extra $15M and doesnt have to go some place likely to kill his career.

Look Dean I know you are STILL desperate to see Cousins leave, despite that it is the stupidest move the team could make. But I dont think Cousins is as short sighted as you are.

Not short sighted. In KC point of view I have to take the highest gmoney offered to me b/c I cant predict the future. In the Redskins point of view I have to try to get the best trade compensation for my team. Its very possible KC could still get traded.

Actually in his shoes you either want Washington to give you the money you want, or to play on the tag, walk away from Washington with $44M in the bank AND get to decide where you want to go next year.

The only thing Kirk risks is a career ending injury. Aside from that, if he plays on the tag and simply matches his performance from the last two years, he will get $100M guaranteed on the open market. He and his agent know this.

If Kirk is angling for or hoping to get traded, he probably wont sign the tender. But I think he signs it within the next few days and would be fine playing on the tag again.

I hope for one both sides can hammer out a deal that is fair for all, for two, I hope the LTD is completed so we can stop talking about KC, our QB need and move on to assembling our team as the new year has started.

wait a minute so if KC has an average season 4000 passing yards and 25Td's and we miss the playoffs in 2017 he is guaranteed 100M next off season? What??? that is crazy. If the Browns offer 95mg right now why wouldn't he jump on that? Why wait?

For the same reason that if I offered you $5 million and said jump out this plane with no parachute, you would likely have second thoughts.

Yes if Cousins throws for 4000 yards with 25 TDs to 12 INTs and the TEAM misses the playoffs,, he will get paid.

So average Qb's get 100MG if they are 30 years old? wow. I just gave you an average season in todays passing league and he still get paid what he wants. Then the question comes to mind why pay top dollar for average performance?

Everybody on the networks are dumbfounded that KC hasnt gotten a LTD yet from the Redskins. They don't know what KC LTD contract demands are. So how are the Redskins the villains in this situation? The whole reason why he is not sign yet is b/c his ask is way too high. Isnt that common sense by now?

Sorry Dean.. but a 3rd year of 4000+ yards, 25 or more TDs and 12 or less INTs would show consistency. Teams miss the playoffs for other reasons than just the QB. I know you dont want to believe that. But 4000/25/12 is a bit more than average and consistent QBs are not that easy to find in the NFL.

So yea Kirk would get paid, very well.

Why cant you understand that he doesn't want to stay here? I am just hoping that we can get the best trade compensation back as possible.

I love how you think the money has nothing to do with KC leaving.

You see you are contradicting yourself. First you insist he does not want to me here, next you claim it's all about the money. The second point is correct, it's all about the money as it should be. Negative feelings towards Washington, if they even exist, have nothing to do with this.

Not contradicting myself. I'd be shocked if he gets a long term deal by 7/15

Sure you are. You are claiming he does not want to be here by exploring other options, then you are saying it's all about the money. IF it's all about he money than there is no reason to believe he does not want to be here or more importantly that it will play a roll in where he signs.
