Yes, but only to a team he is willing to go to.
So this news means nothing. Everything is still in play

Pretty much all of the news that has been reported over the last month means nothing - this is no surprise whatsoever. Also - please try to hide the fact that you desperately wanted Cousins traded no matter what (said with a smile my face - no ill will involved).
can he still be traded with the exclusive tag?
This is saying a trade is unlikely.
The likelihood of Cousins leaving goes down with the Exclusive rights tag. IF he signs it, Washington can either keep him, or trade him to someplace he wants to go. It lowers leverage on both sides. Cousins cant shop himself, but Washington again can either sign him long term, take whats offered in trade, or play him on the tag.
Teams can still call Washington to give trade offers. So how is the leverage lowered for Washington?
Because what you refuse to accept is, if a team Kirk doesnt want to go to is offering Washington the highest amount, he can simply refuse to sign with them. The Brown could offer their entire draft to Washington, if Kirk says Im not going to the Browns.. no deal.
I understand that. Let me ask you this. When a team say the Browns offer trade compensation to Wash. is a long term offer attached to that trade compensation for KC? So the Redskins will know the offer and trade right then and there. If they like then get KC involved and he accepts it or vetoes it.
I seriously doubt it. Why would Kirk or his agent allow Washington to negotiate a contract on his behalf??
Washington would come to Kirk and say the Browns called, we have worked out a trade provided you can work out a contract. It would then be up to Kirk and his agent to say ok we will talk to the Browns.. or pound sand.
I see. So the redskins have to give the go ahead for Kirks agent to talk to the interested teams on a long term deal. So the trade proposals are already in place. So it now turns to the money factor. Which team who offered wash. a trade will pay the most.
If you really believe he would go someplace he is assured to lose for a slightly higher paycheck then sure its all about the money.
reality is, if he is smart (and every thing to this point says he is) Kirk is either going to stay here, or get traded to the Niners.. so what the Browns offer will not matter.
Im sure Kc would want to know what the Browns offer is before turning them down. What if the Browns offer is 10-15mg higher than the 49ers or our offer. You think he stays? lol
If you could go to a good environment for $30 an hour, but the guy down the street was willing to pay you $35 and hour but you would have to get kicked in the nuts every morning... is the $5 an hour really worth the extra pain to you??
lol. this is more than $5 a hour. lol. Lets see if KC chases the money.
